Some members of theZeldacommunity founded the Hyrule Engineering Club, a Reddit forum that quickly became a place not only for showcasing vehicles but also for fostering creativity.

Tears of the Kingdomis off to a good start, not only bagging positive reviews but also smashing the Guinness World Record for the fastest-selling Nintendo game to date. As the sequel to 2017’sBreath of the Wild,Tears of the Kingdomhas caught the attention ofZeldafans and critics alike, as it nabbed the spot for the highest-rated game of 2023 on OpenCritic. Many players have praised the game for running well on the aging Switch hardware without major performance issues. Although there were some dips in performance when the game was first released, Nintendo was quick enough to fix them before they sparked a controversy.

On Reddit, one player by the name of Adrianeczko20 shared a video of them driving a rechargeable electric car powered byTears of the Kingdom’s Zonai devices. The player appears to have used Zonai wheels and an electric battery system to make the vehicle walk. They noted that this unique car could go on for about a minute with the current setup of two electric batteries. As for the rechargeable batteries, the player said they got them from a shrine in Zora’s domain. The ability to feed the batteries with a single shot increases the efficiency of this vehicle.

Tears of the Kingdomhas been out only for a few weeks, but some creative players are wasting no time in showing their vehicles and war machines they built thanks to the Ultrahand ability. As an example, one player made a flying boat using Zonai devices and balloons to explore the clouds above Hyrule’s land. Anotherplayer also built a functional TIE Fighterfeatured in theStar Warsuniverse. Creativity is the way some members of theZeldacommunity express their love forTears of the Kingdom.

The new gameplay mechanics introduced inTears of the Kingdomappear to be resonating well with players. One such mechanic isLink’s Ultrahand ability, which allows players to attach materials together to create something unique. In addition to building mobile homes and death traps, players can use this game-changer ability to make their own vehicles. They can even upgrade them with Zona devices like wings, rockets, and emitters to add some functionality.
