Summary
World of Warcraft ClassicSeason of Discovery Phase 3 opened the gates of Blackrock Depths, but only half of the massive dungeon is available for players to complete right now. However, some of the bosses from the latter part of the sprawlingWorld of Warcraftdungeon can be found relaxing in the tavern within the instance.
The third phase of Season of Discovery recently went live, expanding thelevel cap on theWorld of Warcraft Classicservers to 50. This meant the opening of Blackrock Depths, one of the most infamous dungeons inWoWhistory.

However, not all the dungeon is available to players in Phase 3 of Season of Discovery. The first half of the massive instance is full of deadly mobs like normal, but the second half is completely empty for the time being, presumably until Phase 4 begins in a couple of months. That said,as reported by Wowhead, players can still find some of the bosses from the latter areas of the dungeon relaxing in the Grim Guzzler – the tavern located within the instance.
Dark Keeper
–
Blackrock Depths is the largest dungeon inWorld of Warcrafthistory – even larger than modern megadungeons. The sprawling capital of the Dark Iron Dwarves, Blackrock Depths has more than 20 bosses spread out across a labyrinthine city. The minimum level to enter the instance is 42, but with enemies ranging from levels 48 to 56, it is dangerous to enter before at least level 50 or higher due to high mob density. Clearing Blackrock Depths can easily take anywhere between four and six hours, making it one of themost iconic dungeons inWorld of Warcraft.
While players are excited to challenge this dungeon, many got a kick out of the bosses taking a load off at the Grim Guzzler. Emperor Dagran Thaurissan and Moira Bronzebeard were especially charming – though the former kidnapped the Ironforge princess originally, the two fell in love and had a son. Fans were glad to see them get this time together before they have to face down the dynamic duo in the full version of theBlackrock Mountain instance duringWoW ClassicSeason of Discovery Phase 4.
In the meantime, Phase 3 of Season of Discovery has plenty of things for players to enjoy. The newWorld of Warcraft Classicupdate added the Sunken Temple raid, new Rune engravings, and even the ability to learn dual specialization, despite it not normally being in the game until Wrath of the Lich King. With experience boosts, PvE events, and tons of ways to level, now is an excellent time to see what Season of Discovery is all about.
