With10.1 now on theWorld of WarcraftPublic Test Realm, players are finding some of the surprises in store for them with the new patch. One of these discoveries was the Elementium Drake–a full transformation for the Highland Drake Dragonriding mount fromDragonflight. The customization looks identical to Kazzara, the first boss of the Aberrus raid. Infused with shadowflame and clad in Elementium plates reminiscent of Deathwing, this armored dragon would be an amazing addition to anyWorld of Warcraftplayer’s mount collection.
According to the customization menu, the Elementium Drake is unlocked through the Aberrus raid. It is currently unknown if the customization will drop from Kazzara herself, or from Sarkareth–the last boss of the raid–or what difficulties it will drop on. Considering the Storm-Eater customization dropped from Raszageth, the final boss of theVault of the Incarnates raid fromDragonflight, on all difficulties, players can expect the Elementium Drake to do the same, even though the mount is themed after the first boss.
Players are understandably excited to get their hands on thisnew Dragonriding customization inWorld of Warcraft. While the breadth of customizations for these mounts is amazing, the few available full transformations have been on another level. These awesome cosmetics are fantastic ways to provide unique raid mounts while tying them into the new Dragonriding feature.
Dragonriding has been one of the best parts of theDragonflightexpansion. The physics-reliant flying system is incredibly reactive and fun. Players almost unanimouslyhopeWorld of Warcraftcarries the Dragonriding feature forwardinto future expansions and expands the system to include other mounts as well. ConsideringWorld of Warcraft’sthird-era philosophy of focusing on evergreen features, it is possible players could see this new transportation system return in some fashion for future expansions.
