TheFortniteWinterfest yearly event is live, and for a few weeks, players get to enjoy using holiday-themed items and weapons, and they also get to enjoy the presence of thematic NPCs on the island. Leelah and Holiday Boxy were the first NPCs to be added to the island for the event, and now Epic Games has also brought back a classic Winterfest character - Sgt Winter.
This guide will tell gamers everything they need to know about the Sgt Winter NPC, including where to find him and how he’ll react when he notices other players.

Sgt Winter Location
Players who want to find Sgt Winter will have to visit the new Winterfest landmark, Winterburg. It’s an isolated, holiday-themed island, northeast of Classy Courts, on the northern outer edge of the Battle Royale map. It’s a quiet village with a few houses, and it’s the perfect landing location for a solo player or a duo team.
Unless his path is disrupted by builds or enemy fire, Sgt Winter tends to wander around the icy pond in the middle of Winterburg, near the holiday tree. If players have been there before, they might see a few giantHoliday Presentsscattered around the place.

Sgt Winter NPC Behavior
In previous Winterfest events, Sgt Winter could be found driving around the island as he delivered presents, but that is not the case this year. This is one of the major changes that Epic Games has decided to make for Winterfest 2023, alongside the removal of the Winterfest cabin.
A speech bubble will be visible over Sgt Winter’s head as soon as gamers see him, and it might make them question if they can safely approach him, as it mentions if they’ve been naughty or nice this year. However, this doesn’t mean that he’ll attack you, depending on your in-game behavior.Sgt Winter will always consider you to have behaved nicely, as he is afriendly NPC; he won’t act hostile towards players unless they attack him.

Once Sgt Winter notices a player, he will throw a Holiday Present at them with Epic rarity loot inside. They might find themselves stuck inside the present if he aims directly at them, or they may have to break it open with their harvesting tool in order to get inside and collect the loot.
