Warcraft 3: Reforgeddid not have the best of first impressions. Due to multiple bugs and a less-than-stellar set of critical reviews, many found the remaster ofWarcraft 3to be more of a downgrade of the original game than anything else. Some fans sought outmods to better their experience ofWarcraft 3: Reforged, while others hoped that Blizzard would attempt to improve the game and not leave it as it was. Considering the amount of promises Blizzard failed to keep aroundWarcraft 3: Reforged, many fans of the original game have grown frustrated with its remake.
This has especially become the case due toWarcraft 3: Reforged’slack of updates. WhileWorld of Warcraftfans get to look forward to a new expansion, andDiablo Immortalhas recently revealed its release date, fans ofWarcraft 3: Reforgedhaven’t seen any news on the game for over a year. April 2021 marks the last timeWarcraft 3: Reforgedwas given an update, which led some fans to question when a new one would be coming.

Some fans in particular askedBlizzard President Mike YbarrawhenWarcraft 3: Reforgedcould see another update. In response to a fan, Ybarra said that players will be hearing from theWarcraft 3: Reforgedteam soon before following up by saying that there will be news in June. With June quickly approaching at the time of writing, fans won’t have to wait long to finally get some new details onWarcraft 3: Reforged.
However, due to the vague nature of Ybarra’s tweet, it seems safer not to put any specific time frame on whenWarcraft 3: Reforgednews could be on the way. It seems that simply stating that news would come in June is some part of Blizzard’s roadmap for 2022, as the company previously outlined when fans would hear about the newWorld of Warcraftexpansion, a newWarcraftmobile title, and the new IP Blizzard is working on.
With so many games already in the works at Blizzard,Warcraft 3: Reforgedmay be somewhat left behind. Fans will at least know it is not abandoned thanks to Mike Ybarra, but without work being made on the game, it could be a long way still before it saves the reputation it garnered back in 2020.Warcraft 3: Reforged’slaunch was so poorly receivedit caused Blizzard to offer refunds for those who purchased it.
