Iron Gate Studio continues to expand upon the early access foundation set byValheimand players regularly come up with genius creations in the vast open-world Valhalla. OneValheimplayer has decided to stop building bridges in favor of an incredible underwater tunnel that crosses an inlet.
Reddit user Landtuber recently posted aValheimclip in which they’re highlighting an impressive structure they’ve created on the shore of the deep ocean.Valheimplayers often traverse between multiple bases as they progress from the Stone Age to the Iron Age and beyond to attain more sophisticated tools created with increasingly more durability. Given that some iron bars are used for the underwater portion of the tunnel, Landtuber has at least gotten to the Iron Age by defeating thesecondValheimboss, the Elder, and mining Sunken Crypts in the swamp biome.

Landtuber’sValheimvideo begins with the player showing the building’s surrounding both entrances to the flooded tunnel before going down a staircase and through a water hole before being fully submerged under the section of ocean. Once the tunnel reaches the lowest altitude, theValheimplayer is able to look through iron bars on either side to see the open water and schools ofValheimfishthat can also be caught for more meat. The middle of Landtuber’s sunken tunnel features panels of glass that don’t obstruct the view of the ocean and could be easily broken to escape at the halfway point.
According to Landtuber, the “Free Place"Valheimconsole commandis important to finding the appropriate placement of the roof of the tunnel because using default snap places won’t work. Landtuber has stated that the ideal height for the tunnel is two meters, and they recommend using stone for the floor and wood for the roof, but they have also warned otherValheimplayers about the complexity of building such a tunnel. The tunnel is designed in a way that prevents stamina from draining as the player crosses the water like it normally would if they were swimming across the surface.
Even though this underwater tunnel begins on the shore of the ocean, none ofValheim’s sea serpentswill spawn in the vicinity of the structure because it cuts through a shallow portion. Landtuber has confirmed that players can bring a kart down the tunnel to take resources back and forth, so they aren’t limited to how much weight they can carry. OneValheimplayer was quick to point out that until Iron Gate Studios adds a breathing mechanic for underwater travel to the game, a tunnel system may be ideal for watery seeds.
