Mishaps on Twitch during users' livestreams has never been unheard of. While some of these have been accidents or simply unexpected incidents occurring by chance, streamersPayMoneyWubbyand Alluux had a rather unique event occur on their own recent stream: the setting off of a smoke grenade.
TheTwitchstream had been going as normal for PayMoneyWubby, real name Dennis Richardson, and Alluux, real name Alex. However, the incident occurred when Richardson decided to surprise Alex with a smoke grenade as she held her hand out with her eyes shut. As she opened her eyes, she saw just what Richardson had really put in her hand.

Alex soon realized what was in her hand as the lit grenade began to spark and release heavy orange smoke. Richardson soon began to yell for her to get it outside while the orange smoke filled the room. The two were able to make it outside with the smoke grenade as Richardson chased Alex and the grenade witha fire extinguisher.
Shortly after the two streamers left the room, the orange smoke from the smoke grenade set off the fire alarms inside the home, not shown in the above clip. As smoke grenades are designed as signaling devices for landing zones with aircrafts that are at an incredibly high altitude, they never should be used indoors as was done during thisTwitch stream.
The incident resulted in the livestream needing to be paused for fifteen minutes before resuming. No long term harm seems to have been done due to this and most likely won’t be repeated by Richardson again. According to the streamers, the home where the stream was occurring had good ventilation, preventing the situation from becoming a dangerous one.
Considering all of the Twitch related incidents occurring in 2020, this smoke grenade incident marks one of the first ones of 2021. Unlike others, such as the streamer SoaR Carl accidentallyshooting a loaded firearm on stream, this incident most likely won’t result in a punishment or ban of any kind.
As the year goes on,more crazy things will happen on Twitchfor the world wide web to see. Viewers can only hope that they’ll be like this incident, in that no lasting damage was done to either person or property. Considering how many streamers are active on the website however, there will likely be things even crazier than a smoke bomb even later on for the year 2021.
