Video games are a great and immersive joy to millions. There’s something out there for everyone. If players like farming, then there is a game for it. If they like mining, then there’s a game for it. However, if they likethird-person shooters, then they have an abundance to choose from.

Thesethird-person shooters could potentially benefit from being an FPS title, as there’s a new level of thrill and intrigue that comes with a change in perspective. Games are entirely different depending on the perspective that they are played in, both in the level of detail, and the immersion that the developers have created. Creating an FPS from an established third-person game could be an interesting change to debate.

The horror inDead Spaceis not of this world. Sci-fi and horror mesh so well together and join that with body horror, and a disturbing experience is unleashed. InDead Space, players will take the role of Isaac Clarke, an engineer who has been sent for repairs on the Ishimura. What Isaac doesn’t expect, is the ship to be abandoned and mutilated, filled with grotesque creatures that seek death.

Third-person games can be scary, but the edge can easily be taken off considering players can sharply turn and have a better field of view. WithDead Spacebeing in first person, the horror will come to life, as the player istrapped in the eyes of Isaac Clarke, and every turn could be certain death.

7Resident Evil 2

After a deadly virus ravishes Raccoon City, rookie police officer Leon Kennedy has arough first dayon the job.Resident Evil 2follows the entwined stories of Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, with gruesome attention to detail in this third-person zombie horror game. The game feels great to control as players navigate through the maze-like structures of the Racoon City Police Department and sewers below.

IfResident Evil 2was an FPS title, then the horror featured in the game would be far more frightful. Being chased through corridors by Mister X would be the result of many screams as players desperately try to lose the hunter. Shooting would feel far more accurate and controlled, and the 3D soundscape would make players cautious of Lickers.

6Hitman

Being bald and having a barcode tattoo is no problem for Agent 47.Hitmanis the perfect assassin simulator, with multiple different ways to take care of targets.Hitmanhas seen many titles over the years, and all of them exist as third-person shooters. Players can decide how Agent 47 acts. Whether he’s running to his target with a hammer, orstealthily disguisinghimself to make a happy accident to the target.

As an FPS,Hitmancould see new life, as players won’t have the same reaction times as a third-person title. Players would have to be extra cautious and check behind their backs before roaming through restricted rooms, or before strangling their target with wire. First-person would add a greater level of immersion to the already great simulator.

AlthoughMetal Gear Solid 3features first-person mechanics, they cannot be fulfilled all the way. The first-person mechanic allows Snake to stand still and line up his shot, but the player is restricted, and cannot move their body during it. A fully-fledged FPS ofMetal Gear Solid 3could add to the espionage and action.

The first title in theRed Dead Redemptionseries is entirely immersive as a western. The game features John Marston traversing through the dying old west to hunt down and kill the gang members that betrayed him, so that he may one day see his loving wife and son again. The game isthrilling from start to finish, and highly immersive. Yet, it could learn a thing from its sequel,Red Dead Redemption2.

In the sequel,Red Dead Redemption2, players can play through the entire game in first-person. It adds a new level of immersion, from horse riding to fist fights, to shootouts.Red Dead Redemptioncould have benefited greatly from this detail, as traveling through New Austin through a new lens would have been joyous.

It’s paved the way for the Battle Royale genre, with games desperate to dethrone it.Fortniteis a third-person Battle Royale game, in which players can loot, build and parkour their way to the victory royale.

The graphics are stellar, and the animations are wonderful, if not extremely gory at times. The game has many thingsgoing for it like it’s an emotional rollercoaster of a story between a hopeless man and a girl that is mankind’s last hope in a world of cordyceps zombies.

A feature that could have been a lot of fun forThe Last of UsPart 1would be a first-person mechanic. Sneaking through rooms filled with rageful infected, or facing off against hunters or a bloater with shotguns and pistols would have been a frightful blast.
