It can be easy to get lost in exploring the world, and it can take some time to learn useful tactics.
As an open world, there are many ways to playAvatar: Frontiers of Pandora, but there are some unwritten rules that are useful to know. Knowing these unwritten rules can certainly make the game much easier to play and less of a hassle. Not only that, but it certainly saves the player from figuring out specific methods of doing things in later parts of the game. These unwritten rules involve bridging gaps within the story as well as exploring the vast open world.
Exploring The Western Frontier
Focus on The Story Until a Certain Point
One of the primary modes of traversal inAvatar: Frontiers of Pandoraisthe Ikran, a Navi’s faithful flying companion. As such, it’s best to focus on the story until the ability to call the protagonist’s Ikran is unlocked, as this will make traversing the world a lot easier, as well as allow the player to reach high up places that were previously unavailable. Once the Ikran is unlocked, players can progress through the story at their own pace now that they have their own flying mount.
It is also highly recommended to prioritize and complete all side missions that are found in the Resistance Base or given by resistance members, as some of these missions will expire as the story progresses.
Each time the player enters a new region for the first time, they will be unable to summon their Ikran. Luckily, gaining the ability to summon the Ikran in each region comes about very early in the story within each region, so following the story when entering a new region for the first time until gaining the ability is a must to make traversing the area much easier.
Focus on Harvesting Exquisite Resources
Exquisite resources allow players to craft powerful gear and longer-lasting food with powerful buffs. Not only that, but the more exquisite the gear is, the higher level the player will be at. It’s a must to focus on harvesting exquisite resources over lower rarities. The hunter guide is a player’s best friend when it comes tofinding exquisite resources, as it will tell them where to look for rarer resources.
Once the location of the rare resources is found, players should ignore the superior resources and only harvest the exquisite resources, as they aren’t that hard to find. This is down to the fact that the food and material pouches can only carry a finite amount and overloading them with lower quality resources will mean dropping lots of unused items, and wasting resources goes against Na’vi culture. Luckily, wasting resources doesn’t have any effect on the players' reputation in the game, but it can be a tad annoying having to sort through the inventory each time in order to harvest more resources.
Go To Each Undiscovered Point of Interest
One of the most important things to ensure survival inAvatar: Frontiers of Pandorais to increase the health bar andunlock valuable skills. This can be done in many ways, but the easiest way is to discover points of interest, as there are two types of these locations that can grant skill points and increase the health bar.
The Western Frontier is abundant in these locations, and it can be tedious going to each one, but it’s best to do so to increase the health bar and gaining more skill points, as well as discovering over points of interest, such as Sarentu Totems, Memory Paintings, and much more.

Audio logs and notes can be found scattered throughoutAvatar: Frontiers of Pandora’sopen world, primarily in RDA or Resistance locations, but some can be found in unmarked locations such as crashed RDA helicopters. One thing that is important to know is that some of these audio logs and notes provide more insight into the story ofAvatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Listening to and reading these logs and notes can grant valuable insight into important characters and lore, especially with logs and notes made by characters who are integral to the story. It can also help bridge the gap between certain events that happen in the story.
