The Jedi are all but extinct by the time ofStar Wars Jedi: Survivor. The fight was lost, and the Sith won. However, Jedi Knights like Cal Kestis refuse to allow the Empire to rest in its victory, andStar Wars Jedi: Survivorwill give players the freedom to create their unique build, but perhaps players will want to feelas close to a Jedi Knight as possible.

Within Cal Kestis, the Jedi can live. By making use of these specific abilities, players can make their version of Cal Kestis an honorable Jedi who fights the Empire not out of revenge, but out of the memory of the Jedi that was lost in Order 66.

greater hold

Updated on June 19, 2025, by Jake Fillery:Jedi are often calm and calculated, and they do not allow their emotions to cloud their judgment, and they especially do not indulge in rageful actions. As such, it’s a good time to see what makes Cal Kestis such a good Jedi, and what Skills in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will benefit those seeking the Jedi way.

10Greater Hold

Use the Force to Slow and Stop Enemies

Force Slow is one of the best abilities that Cal can use, and it’s also a great power that every Jedi should use to slow down enemies and subdue them, allowing Cal to continue at normal speeds while his enemies are weakened and vulnerable. This is the perfect attack to upgrade for Cal, as it strengthens his relationship with the Force for a passive ability.

With Force Slow, a Jedi is able to look for vulnerabilities within their enemy, and provide them with the space and peace that they need to find an opening to attack without relying on sheer aggression and rage like a Sith would.

confusion mastery

9Confusion Mastery

Confuse the Most Resistant of Enemies

Not every enemy that Cal fights will be able to be manipulated through the Force, and some will outright reject Cal’s abilities, meaning Cal will not be able to use the Force Confuse ability on them. However, with Confusion Mastery, most enemies will now be impacted by this great ability so that Cal can subdue them more easily.

When in the Confuse state, enemies will be staggered and perhaps even attack other enemies, leaving them vulnerable for a Jedi like Cal to make his attack known, or make his daring escape to avoid further violence.

swift focus skill

8Swift Focus

Use Well-Timed Dodges to Recover Force

Another important lesson for a Jedi is knowing when to fight without a lightsaber. Although this weapon can be considered the life of a Jedi, it’s also something that they will have to learn to survive without. Luckily, Swift Focus will give players that opportunity, as they will be able to perform a successful Precision Evade and be gifted increased Force recovery by doing so.

Swift Focus is a great way to regain Force for the Force meter, so it’s best to use Swift Focus when players want to put away their lightsaber and focus on their Jedi reflexes to better use their abilities rather than just the strikes of their lightsaber.

greater reflexes skill

7Greater Reflexes

Faster Block Meter Refill for More Defensive Styles

For generations, Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice. Of course, this was before the dark times, before the Jedi were hunted bythe best bounty huntersand the great Purge. With Greater Reflexes active as a Survival Skill, players will allow their Block Meter to refill faster, allowing for more opportunities to block strikes and blaster bolts.

Greater Reflexes is a necessary skill for the defensive nature of a Jedi. Players will want to counter and block incoming strikes, and only attack when it is safe to do so, or necessary to protect the life of the Jedi and the innocent that may be under attack.

precision release skill

6Precision Release

A Counter-Attack That Flows with the Force

Not many Jedi use the Dual Wield Lightsaber Stance. The iconic Ahsoka Tano is well-known for her mastery of this stance, and inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, Cal can learn that power too. With Precision Release, players will use the Dual Wield Stance to thebest of their ability, allowing them to hold Triangle for their defense.

If players release Triangle right before the enemy tries to hit Cal, then the Jedi Knight will release an even more devastating follow-up attack that will cause great damage to the assaulter, and stagger nearby enemies, providing all with a powerful punishment for striking this great Jedi.

howling push skill

5Howling Push

A Stronger Force Push Ability for Larger Enemies and Groups

Players can prove their strength and mastery of the Force with Howling Push. This Force power will allow players to hold the right trigger to charge up a Force Push, pushing enemies in a far larger radius to a great effect, a move that will evenpush back the strongest and largest of enemiesin the path.

Howling Push is a great move that sends enemies away, giving the player the appropriate time to assess the situation they are in against their foes. This Force move shows how strong players can be when their ally is the Force, rather than manipulating it.

greater confusion skill

4Greater Confusion

Confuse Multiple Enemies at Once to Make Them Vulnerable

The Jedi Mind Trick is a staple move for Jedi. Greater Confusion allows players to press R1 and their dodge button after using Confusion on a target to Confuse an additional target. This allows for players to use a Mind Trick on two enemies rather than one, providing them with two allies for a time.

Greater Confusion proves that the Jedi know better ways through the Force. They will not need to shoot lightning from their fingertips or use the Force to strangle their foes. Instead, they can turn opponents on one another through a Mind Trick.

enlightened attunement skill

3Enlightened Attunement

The Ultimate Upgrade for Cal’s Force Meter

With the Force as Cal Kestis’ ally, he is stronger than any Sith. Enlightened Attunement will reinforce the Jedi using this skill to provide them with great strength within the Force. It will increase Cal’s maximum Force meter to the best of its ability, providing Cal with a large bout of Force meter to use some great moves.

Enlightened Attunement shows that Jedi do not need to manipulate the Force, or make it bend to their will. Enlightened Attunement is the best way to findan ally within the Force, as Cal can become one with the Force by accepting the Light into him.

twofold reflection skill

2Twofold Reflection

Deflect Multiple Blaster Shots in a Row

To defend oneself is the Jedi way, andconsidering a lightsaberis a weapon far more elegant and less random than a blaster, it’s no surprise that the Jedi use these as a beacon of their peace. Twofold Reflection is a great Single Stance skill that will see players deflect two blaster projectiles.

Players can defeat their enemies through defense means, pressing L1 just before a blaster bolt hits them. In reflecting two blaster projectiles, players can defeat two enemies at once, showing mastery in Jedi training.

power lift skill

1Power Lift

Lift Larger Enemies with the Force

The power of a Jedi comes from knowing when they do not need to take a life. Power Lift is a great choice for Jedi, as it will force enemies into the air, even the largest of foes cannot be resisted by Power Lift. This Force power allows players to defend themselves, suspending the most dangerous ofKoboh’s creatures.

Whilst in the air, players can decide how to best handle their opponent. They might have to use this moment to strike their foe, or to heal themselves in a momentary break from the violence. Power Lift is a useful ability that can be used for good rather than harm.
