Lightsabers have featured as a great weapon forStar Warsgames.Star WarsJedi Knight:Jedi Academy, is one such game. Players can utilize different styles of lightsaber combat, as well as different blades for the best combat available.

6Fast Style

This lightsaber style is exclusive to single lightsabers. Fast Style exhibits fast and efficient combat, with limited range. The blade allows for short and quick motions, which provide the player with ease of repeated attacks with quick follow-ups. The problem with Fast Style, is not its speed, but the low inflicted damage. The number of strikes should warrant more damage, especially since lightsabers should be able to cut through things like butter.

This style is more reserved for players looking to dispatch enemies that hold ranged weapons whilst moving, as it’s not great for lightsaber duels, butthose with blastersthat need to be taken care of, fast. The minimum damage makes this the worst style, especially since it’s only for single lightsaber blades.

5Strong Style

One of the three unlockable single lightsaber fighting styles, the Strong Style isthe most powerfulbut has the most disadvantages. Strong Style is used to provide opponents with powerful swings that can break through defenses with ease. These attacks have great range, and a large windup, as well as a great follow-through.

When struck, the enemy is rarely able to block attacks, and they may even potentially be knocked down. Even if the enemy has a lightsaber, it may be knocked aside, leaving the opponent without a weapon. Strong Style is great for one-on-one combat, but not groups of enemies. The problem stems from the slow wind-up, which leaves the user open to counterattacks.

4Medium Style

As the default lightsaber fighting style, the Medium Style is rather efficient and needs no change. It’s the most effective style for fighting multiple enemies at once, as it has medium speed and range. It inflicts adecent amount of damageand has a fun style since it incorporates some spins. These spins can also allow the player to chain up to five attacks in a combo.

dual weilded lightsabers

The Medium Style is great for those that aren’t seeking too far into the exploration of combat. The style can be used from the beginning of the game, right to the end with little difficulty. It’s the combat seen by mostJedi, utilizing the moves as seen in theStar Warsfilms.

3Dual Sabers

If players want to feel like Asajj Ventress, then dual-wielding lightsabers are the way forward. This fighting style, rarely seen inStar Wars, utilizes two lightsabers, one in each hand. ForJedi Academy, Dual Sabers really aren’t great, as they are hard to learn, and even mastering them isn’t as effective as the other two sabers. Although, the main advantage is looking cool with two lightsabers.

Dual lightsabers can twirl, which allows for a more defensive playstyle. It’s a surprise, as two lightsabers would seem to warrant more power. However, inJedi Academy, wielding two blades simply means a more defensive style of play.

2Two-Handed Saber

When audiences were introduced to the double-ended lightsaber in 1999’s The Phantom Menace, many were shocked and beyond excited about the potential of such a weapon. The Two-Handed Saber waspopularised by Darth Maul, themenacing Sith lordfrom Dathomir. Maul wielded a staff lightsaber, with crimson blades. He used it to kill Qui-Gon Jinn, and many others fell to it during the Clone Wars. As cool as this saber is, it was Maul’s ultimate demise against his nemesis, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

ManyStar Warsfans still believed that the Two-Handed Saber is the coolest thing to come out of the franchise, and this weapon bolsters great strength in offense and defense. Other than its capabilities in combat, many may want to use this double-ended blade for its awesome look.

1Standard Saber

What makes the Standard Saber the best of the three, is the accessibility to three lightsaber combat styles. Used by the player, they can have the most versatile fighting styles with just one lightsaber. The different styles, Fast, Strong, and Medium, are exclusive to the Standard Saber. It’s truly the most elegant weapon for a more civilized age.

This single-bladed lightsaber is the first type of lightsaber available to the player. To learn the other two, they first have to master the standard. This makes the Standard Saber in being the best, as they will arguably spend the most time with this blade. Most Jedi and Sith use the one saber, like the icons of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, and themaster duellist of Count Dooku.
