Survival horror fans only have a little more time to wait before discoveringSons of the Forest, as the highly anticipated sequel toThe Forestrelease time was confirmed to be February 23 at 9am PT. Steam players can start planning their first gaming session forSons of the Forest’s early access release.
Sons of the Forestis the sequel toThe Forest, a 2014 survival game that saw players trying to fight off cannibalistic monsters and stay alive in a creepy forest on a remote island. Just like its predecessor,Sons of the Foresttakes place on a forested island populated by mutated creatures. To survive in this hellscape, players will have to craft various equipment and build safe spaces to prepare themselves before fighting the deadly creatures roaming around the island.Sons of the Forestsupports multiplayer for up to eight players so that friends can experience the horrors of this new game together.

According to the store page ofSons of the Foreston Steam, this survival horror game will launch on February 23 at 09:00am PST, 12:00pm EDT, and 17:00pm GMT. PC players can prepare themselves to discover theearly access version ofSons of the Forest, while console players will have to wait as neither developer Endnight Games nor publisher Newnight have announced a console release forSons of the Forestjust yet. However, as its predecessorThe Forestwas available on PlayStation 4,Sons of the Forestcould eventually release on consoles.
ThelatestSons of the Foresttrailer shed more light on the multiplayer featuresof the game. Players can build shelters together, gather material to craft new equipment, and take on hordes of cannibalistic mutated creatures. Whether discoveringSons of the Forestwith others or solo, players will be able to use an AI-controlled companion called Kelvin to help them do the various tasks needed to survive on the remote island filled with deadly monsters.
Sons of the Forestis one of the most anticipated horror games coming out in 2023,dethroningStarfieldas the most wishlisted game on Steam. This sequel toThe Forestcomes out in early access to prevent further delay, asSons of the Forestwas already postponed three times. Endnight warned players thatSons of the Forestwas not yet fully polished, but that it wanted players’ feedback to improve the game and make it better over time.
