A recent Reddit post has sparked an interesting conversation amongACfans, with many criticizingAssassin’s Creed Mirage’s character models. Some gamers have gone so far as to say that the character models share a striking similarity to those from previous editions of the franchise, or even to video games dating back to 2009. Currently sitting at more than 22,000 upvotes, the Reddit topic quickly became a hot issue of conversation among the gaming community.

In addition to the character models,Mirage’s animations have also come under scrutiny as many players have pointed out that the less-than-smooth animations had a detrimental effect on their immersion, breaking the illusion of being within9th-century Baghdad. There’s a recurring sentiment that some of the aforementioned issues stem from Ubisoft’s practice of reusing assets across many of its titles. That being said, not all Redditors are adopting such a harsh stance towardsMirage, as quite a few users justify its flaws by considering its smaller development budget and lower launch price.
