The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimhas been going for more than ten years, and in that time, it’s perfectly conceivable to imagine that anything, at least within the vanilla game, has already been seen, discovered, screenshot, talked about, and had memes dedicated to it. It doesn’t seem likely that there could be anything left untouched or unseen. But that’s not the case. There are stillmany secrets players don’t know aboutSkyrim, and it turns out that a few fans were unaware of this one small asset of the open world game.
In a recent post on Reddit, it turns out that there is one thing that someSkyrimplayers did not know about until now, and that is that it’s possible to use an arrow or magic to shoot down beehives in order to harvest honey. The original thread was posted by the somewhat ironically named Skyrim_For_Everyone, who also uploaded a couple of screenshots showing one hive with an arrow in it, and an option to search its interior.

As it turns out, there are a number of people in that thread alone who did not know about this trick. Along with shooting down beehives, a discussion ensued in which other users were faced with other things they did now know they could do in the Bethesda epic. One user said it’s possible to shout moths down, while another was bewildered that they didn’t know it was possible to catch salmon roe as they jump up waterfalls. For a game that’s more than a decade old, it seemsSkyrimplayers still have much to discover.

Despite coming out towards the latter parts of 2011, Bethesda’s fantasy epic isstill one of the most popular games on Steam, with no sign of its status as a beloved entry in the series wavering any time soon. It’s hard to imagine thatSkyrimcould even be considered an old game, yet it’s outlasted many of its contemporaries. Its sheer popularity seems owed to the fact that the game has such huge scope, plenty to do and see, not to mention an onslaught of fan-made mods that improve the game in myriad ways.
Given its age, many fans are wondering aboutthe whereabouts ofThe Elder Scrolls 6. With Bethesda currently working onStarfield, the next entry in the fantasy franchise will have to wait a bit longer. But given the comments in the Reddit thread, it looks as though players will keep discovering new things inSkyrimfor a good while longer.
