A Reddit user by the name of PlanetExpr5510n found a way to level up the lockpicking ability much faster using an interesting procedure. By tying a bungie cord to the top of the control stick of their Xbox One controller while in the lockpicking menu, the player can continue to break lockpicks continuously without having to manually break each and everyone. Whether the player succeeds or fails, the lockpicking skill will continue to level up.

However, this method does present a rather pressing issue. While the bungie cord does most of the work, the player would still have to wait for all the lockpicks to break and subsequently, have the lockpicking skill gradually level up. Fortunately, PlanetExpr5510n also provides a solution to this problem, by suggesting to watch something onHuluwhile waiting for the skill to level up.
