SMT5: Vengeance Physical Release Is Limited to 3 Platforms

A week later,SMT5: Vengeanceis nowup for pre-ordersvia all major storefronts. While the enhanced edition of the game will be available on every contemporary console and PC from day one, its physical release will be limited to the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch versions. This turn of events isn’t particularly surprising, not least because Sony and Microsoft’s last-gen consoles are over a decade old at this point. But given how the PS4 version ofPersona 3 Reloaddid get a physical release in early February, some fans were still hoping for Atlus and Sega to extend that treatment toVengeance.

Only the Standard Edition of the game will be available as a boxed copy. The differences between this version and the $10 more expensive Digital Deluxe Edition aren’t massive, but the latter does come with several notable additions that can make the overall gameplay experience a bit easier, especially early on. One of them is a trio of items for increasing the spawn rates of various Mitama demons that can help farm Macca, EXP, and Glory points used forunlocking Miracles inSMT5: Vengeance. Some early-game AoE and multi-target heals are also part of the package, albeit only available as pre-order bonuses.

Allpreviously releasedShin Megami Tensei 5DLC packswill be included in both editions.

As forwhat else to expect fromSMT5: Vengeance, Atlus has already promised an alternative story route called Canon of Vengeance, some new characters, locations, and demons, among other novelties. The definitive version of the 2021 RPG is scheduled to hit the market on June 21.
