How to Get a Fishing Pole in Rune Factory 3: Special
The player can obtain their first fishing pole, theCheap Pole, very early in their adventure. There are three methods to obtain the Cheap Pole inRune Factory 3: Special. The easiest method is to simply purchase the Cheap Pole at the Blacksmith Shop for 1800 Gold, as the player can complete only one villager request per day and would have to wait for those requests to pop up on the bulletin board.
Once the player has gotten their hands on a fishing pole, they can immediately begin fishing in lakes and pools found around the town of Sharance and various dungeons. Each fishing location features an assortment of fish that can be caught depending on the current in-game season. Some fish can be caught year-round, while others are available only at certain times of the year.

The player can upgrade their Cheap Pole once they have unlocked the Forge andincreased their Forging Level. The first upgraded fishing pole, the Beginner’s Pole, can be crafted atForging Level 15. Higher-quality fishing poles will allow the player to more easily catch rare and high-quality fish by increasing the window in which the player needs to respond to the bite.
