Capcom has yet to officially announceResident Evil 8, but rumors from multiple, reliable sources have more or less confirmed that the game is in development. If rumors aboutResident Evil 8being revealed at the PS5 game eventon June 11 are true, then fans won’t have to wait long to learn more about the game in an official capacity, but in the meantime, a frequent leaker has revealed yet another interesting detail.
This rumor comes from AestheticGamer, who has accurately leakedResident Evilnews in the past. Fans should still take this information with a grain of salt, but if AestheticGamer’s sources are correct, then it appears as though the upcomingResident Evil 8will have three playable characters.

The main playable character inResident Evil 8will supposedly beEthan Winters, who was the protagonist ofResident Evil 7. Apparently, fans will be playing as Ethan for about 50-60% of the game. 30-40% of the game will be spent playing as the secondary protagonist, and about 10% of the game will be spent playing as the third protagonist.
As for who the other playable characters are inResident Evil 8, that remains to be seen. Previously, it was leaked that there is anew playable character named Emily, so it’s possible that she is the secondary protagonist. According to the leaks, Emily teams up with Ethan to search for her missing father. More details on Emily and her role in the story are unavailable at the time of this writing, but if she exists, fans should find out more come theResident Evil 8reveal.
The third playable character could be just about anybody. Perhaps fans will take on the role of series favoriteChris Redfieldfor a portion of the game, or maybe the third playable character will be somebody completely new and unexpected. There are quite a few popularResident Evilcharacters Capcom could use if it wants to feature an existing character inRE8, so this is something else that fans will just have to wait to find out more.
