Leaks and rumors are the catalysts of suspicion and conversation, something that was seen clearly when reputable leaker Tom Henderson suggested Quantic Dream may be working on aStar Warsgame. Today, Henderson has returned to further explain his cryptic tease about thisrumoredStar Warsgameand the foundations behind it.

Henderson’s original post, which featured lightsabers atop a screenshot fromDetroit: Become Human, seemed to directly point to a collaboration betweenStar Warsand Quantic Dream. Comments began to flood his post with speculation from fans of both the developer and the popular franchise, but no evidence, caption, or further explanation was provided at the time. However, Henderson has since written briefly about his intentions and sources.

Henderson shares that he has received insider evidence about thispotentialStar Warstitlefrom a source that remains unidentified. According to this individual, “a Star Wars game by the studio has been in the works for around 18 months.” If this rumor is indeed true, then perhaps the source’s identity is being kept secret as a means of protecting them from scrutiny that could come about due to the leak. Of course, the other assumption may be that Henderson’s source is not reputable themselves or in fact authentic, so fans should continue to interpret Henderson’s claims lightly. Still, Henderson has proven correct on several occassions in the past, so it is worth discussing his claims.

18 months is a considerable amount of time for development, particularly for a new franchise adaptation from an establisheddeveloper such as Quantic Dream. If true, Quantic Dream’s current project has been kept under wraps for more than a year and perhaps has nothing of marketable value to share yet, thus explaining its secrecy. Henderson shares that this leak was also reported by Gautoz, a French YouTuber who apparently stated that Quantic Dream and Disney are signing a collaboration deal together.

Henderson also offers a screenshot that he had taken of Quantic Dream’s social media handle acknowledging another post that talks about theStar Warsrumor. Henderson believes this helps substantiate the rumor, particularly because the acknowledgement was removed thereafter.

As such, this rumor has been pedaled by more individuals than just Henderson alone, and therefore has even more weight to it than it did previously. Many gamers would be ecstatic for a Quantic Dream-developedStar Warsgame, but without credible information pointing toward an official announcement, it is still nothing but a rumor at this point.
