Super Smash Bros. Ultimateis one of the most treasured gaming franchises of all time. With a cacophony of different fighters, stages, and tight controls,Super Smash Bros.has captivated the fighting game scene for over two decades. With 2020 halfway over, it’s nearly time to reveal the next DLC fighter and fans seem to have a solid idea of what the next fighter will be.
Withthe newest DLC fighter being revealed back in June, fans are eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the nextSmashcharacter. When exactly any of the subsequent fighters will be revealed is anyone’s guess, considering that when the second Fighters Pass was announced, it mentioned that all the characters would be released by December 31st, 2021. Thus, Nintendo has over a year to reveal all the fighters.

Nintendo has recently announced that thePokemonfighting gamePokken Tournament DXwould be free to play starting July 29th and ending on August 4th. This move has led many in theSmash Bros.community to believe that the next DLC fighter will likely be aPokemonfeatured inPokken Tournament.
This theory does hold some weight to it, considering that right before the Min Min fromARMSwas announced as a DLC fighter,ARMSreceived a free full game trial that ran for a limited time. This obviously is similar toPokken Tournamentnow having an upcoming free full game trial. It’s not bad as far asSmash Bros.theories go. However, it is just a theory, and should be taken with a massive grain of salt.
Though, the next and most logical question to ask at this point is if the next DLC fighter is a character fromPokemon, thenwhatPokemoncharacter will it be? There is an abundance ofPokemonto choose from, in fact, there are already eightPokemoncharacters featured inSmash Bros., so it makes choosing another one quite an important decision.
Having said all of this, it’s important to note that all of this is mere speculation at this point. Back in April, many in theSmash Bros.community were convinced thatBigby Wolf fromThe Wolf Among Uswould be the next DLC fighter and so far, there has not been a single shred of official news from Nintendo to support that theory in any way. Only time will tell if this speculation means anything real.
