ThoughPokemonSwordandShield’s Isle of Armor DLChas been out for a couple of months at this point, players are still going through the island and catching all the brand new Pokemon that were added to the game. As many players know, the central Pokemon that the Isle of Armor DLC focuses on was a Pokemon called Kubfu. One of the central tasks that players needed to complete in the DLC was a set of trials meant to help train Kubfu.

The trials in question center around the two towers on the Isle of Armor: the Tower of Darkness and the Tower of Water. Players will have to choose which tower to climb which will be instrumental inhelping Kubfu evolve into Urshifu. Normally, players are only allowed to use Kubfu during the tower trial. Now, a Reddit user by the name of mismatched7 has discovered an exploit that allows players to use other Pokemon besides Kubfu in the trial, potentially making the challenge much easier.

Mismatched7 found that if players are currently climbing one of the towers and receives a mystery gift Pokemon while inside the tower, they will get that Pokemon in their party and still be able to use it alongside Kubfu. Mismatched7 performed this exploit byredeeming a code for a free shiny Amoongus, but it seems to work with all mystery gifts that contain Pokemon. Naturally, this exploit only works if there is an available mystery gift to be redeemed. Still, it’s a very neat exploit that probably took a lot of luck to discover.

As many fans ofPokemonSwordandShieldknow, the Isle of Armor expansion was just one half to the overall expansions thatSwordandShieldwill receive in 2020. Fans can still expect the Crown Tundra DLC to drop sometime in winter of 2020, which will come with an all new area to explore with tons of new content for players to discover. Additionally, many moreSwordandShieldwill see many morereturning Pokemon through the Crown Tundra DLC, as evidence from fan datamines online.
