As April continues on, Pokemon GO players have no shortage of things to do. Even with the currentRemote Raid Pass controversies in thePokemon GOcommunity, the hit mobile game is constantly evolving with new content and events. In April, Cutiefly and Regieleki arrived, while limited time events like Spring into Spring added new collection challenges, rewards, and quests to overcome.
In addition to the rotating content, theconstant invasions by Team GO Rocketare things that continue without fail. As players have come to know, these battles feature twisted variants called Shadow Pokemon, which can then be caught. As players take down more and more grunts, they’ll have opportunities to face off against the leadership, presenting opportunities to capture some rarer Pokemon when Leader Giovanni arrives. However, before that happens, players will need to take down the three leaders first.

Unlike the grunts, the Team GO Rocket leaders present more of a challenge with stronger Pokemon and rotating lineups each month. As such, here is everything that players can expect from Arlo during April 2023 inPokemon GO.
Arlo’s First Pokemon
For April 2023, Arlo leads off the battle with theNormal type Pokemon Teddiursa. Compared to the rest of the lineup, this will very likely be the easiest phase as Teddiursa is weak to FIghting type attacks, while being resistant to Ghost. Here are the best options (though not the only possible ones) for dealing with Teddiursa:
Arlo’s Second Pokemon
With Phase 1 complete, players will now face one of the following Pokemon. For April 2023, players could see either Hypno, Golurk, or Blaziken. Here’s how to deal with all three.
Hypno
The first possibility is the pure psychic type Hypno. Without having to worry about dual typing, players can focus on bringing Bug, Dark, and Ghost type moves to this fight. Here are some great options:
Golurk
Golurk presents a few additional challenges than Hypno, as it is a Dual Ghost and Ground type. Therefore, players should ensure they have Pokemon with Dark, Ghost, Grass, Ice, or Water type attacks. Consider:
Blaziken
The final second round option is the Fire/Fighting type, Blaziken. For this fight, players should have Pokemon with Flying, Ground, Psychc, or Water type moves.
Arlo’s Final Pokemon
Similar to the second round, Arlo brings three possible Pokemon in during the final phase. Players won’t know which one they get until they reach this specific phase of the battle. During April 2023, players may square off against Banette, Scizor, or Luxray
Banette
Another Ghost type could await players, though unlike Golurk,Banette’s second typing is Dark. For this battle, players will need Pokemon that know Dark or Ghost type attacks.
Scizor
The next final round opponent could be theBug and Steel type called Scizor. For this encounter, it’s best to bring Fire type moves for the best effect.
Luxray
Finally, players could end up seeingLuxray and as a pure Electric type, Ground-type moves will work best here.
Getting through phase 3 means the battle is over andPokemon GOplayers are now one step closer to meeting up with Giovanni. For those who have yet to take on theother Team GO Rocket leaders Sierraor Cliff, verify to follow the guides to claim victory and a Super Rocket Radar.
