Pokemon Brilliant DiamondandPokemon Shining Pearlare two of the latest video games in thePokemonfranchise. However, these two games still have their fair share of issues to fix, which doesn’t stop the developers from adding new features to them as well.
Recently, a new announcement revealed that bothPokemonBrilliant DiamondandPokemon Shining Pearlwill receive a new update. Update 1.2.0 update is currently available for players to download for their games, fixing some issues as well as adding several new features.

One of the new features coming toPokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearlis the new Colosseum Battle feature. Players can enter the Colosseum through the 2nd floor of a Pokemon Center, where they can battle with other players using custom rule sets. When players reach the Colosseum, they can set their own rules for the matches, like how many Pokemon they can use in battle, or the levels of the Pokemon. Other things they can set rules for include if they engage in one-on-one Single Battles, Double Battles, or if they have local or online Multi Battles with each other.
The secondfeature added toPokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearlis that Union Room functions have been expanded in the updated version. As a result, the maximum number of players that can engage each other in the Union Rooms through local or online internet connection has been increased. However, it doesn’t specifically say by how much more than before. When players select Greeting or Capsule Decorations in Union Rooms, they can show each other their Trainer cards and Capsule Decorations.
The third major feature added to version 1.2.0 is focused onPokemon Tradingand Pokemon Battles in the games. Mainly that Pokemon obtained through any “unintended methods or illicit modification” in the games cannot be used in either Link Trades or Link Battles. Version 1.2.0 ofPokemon Brilliant DiamondandPokemon Shining Pearlalso fixes issues in both games to provide players with more “pleasing gameplay.” However, the post doesn’t reveal exactly which issues in the games have been fixed to improve the gameplay.
The post does provide a set of instructions players can follow to download the newupdate forPokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearl. First, players need to connect their Nintendo Switch to the internet, then go to the HOME menu and launch their game. Then the update will automatically be downloaded and installed into the game. After that, the new 1.2.0 version will show up on the title screen forPokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearl.
