Final Fantasy 16’s platinum trophy is a long and arduous journey because players effectively need to be the game twice and master every single ability in the game to earn it, with the latter being something quite difficult to do even after beating it twice. Indeed, the AP gains inFinal Fantasy 16are paced in a way that encourages AP farming, and while some locations are better than others, one item is needed to do it effectively, even inFinal Fantasy Mode: the Wages of Warcraft.

Final Fantasy 16features 68 total main chapters, though some are quests within quests, and one might assume upon starting Final Fantasy mode that they’d gain enough AP to master every ability by the end of it. The answer is a resounding not likely. While everyone’s playstyle is different, two standard playthroughs mean players will be shy quite a bit of AP by the end of it and turn to farming to snag the Platinum trophy. There’s really no way to avoid this, but the Wages of Warcraft item makes it much faster and much easier to complete.

Final Fantasy 16: The Wages of Warcraft Item

With the way thatFinal Fantasy 16’s equipment is structured, players would be forgiven if they didn’t properly shop Charon’s wares. It’s possible to even miss stuff as some things are unlocked later on, the Wages of Warcraft item being but one example. It is unlocked once players begin the main quest, Cid the Outlaw, and it increases AP gains from “normal” combat encounters by 20%. At some point, players also unlock the ability to reinforce the item, and all it requires is players to buy it yet again from Charon. With two of these in the inventory, players can visit Blackthorne and reinforce the item so that it gives 40% more AP per combat encounter. This not only would be a big boon during the main quest, but those who turn to farming will find it handy there as well.

Final Fantasy 16: The Benefits of the Wages of Warcraft Item on the Best AP Farm

For example, it’s been established that the Hyenas in Ash are thebest AP farm inFinal Fantasy 16. There are a few reasons for this. The first is that players can travel from the nearby Obelisk to the Hyenas rather quickly (thanks to the Chocobo), they are super easy to defeat even for a first Final Fantasy mode visit to Ash, and they reward crudely 600 or so AP points (on Final Fantasy mode). It’s fast to reset and farm this, but thanks to the Wages of Warcraft, it’s not just speed.

Defeating the Hyenas with the fully upgraded Wages of Warcraft equipped will net players AP in the ballpark of 1120, which is certainly useful. To hit 10,000 AP, for example, would take about 9 runs of this AP farm with the item equipped. Without it, players are looking at 15 runs. 6 Runs may not seem like a lot, but depending on how much farming the player needs to do, it can genuinely make a world of difference in how long it takes to getFinal Fantasy 16’s platinum trophy.
