Thanks to a dataminer by the handle of Yakumono, fans now know who isdevelopingNintendo World Championships: NES Editionahead of its launch on July 18. In a recent Twitter post, Yakumono revealed that they uncovered the name of the developer within the files for the game’s Nintendo eShop pre-load, and that it is none other than the Tokyo-based indieszero. The dataminer also claims thatNintendo World Championships: NES Editionutilizes the same emulation software as Switch Online and the NES Classic Edition mini console.
Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Is Being Developed By Indieszero
Indieszero’s history stretches way back to the mid-90s, when the studio developed titlesfor classic Nintendo systemslike the Super NES, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, and Wii U. Some of its more recent Nintendo games include educational titles likeDr Kawashima’s Brain Training for Nintendo SwitchandBig Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain, as well as theNES Remixgames.
Given its experience recreating older Nintendo games on current hardware, indieszero is a fitting studio to work onNintendo World Championships: NES Edition.
