That date has now been changed, with developer Frictional Games stating that it needs additional time to polish and “make sure everything is perfect.” Frictional doesn’t appear to need to do too much more, though. The updated release date forAmnesia: The Bunkeris May 23, a delay of just one week.

Such a short delay is especially curious. There’s very little that can be done in game development in just one week. Perhaps there are one or several key bugs that Frictional wants to address, or a fix that still needs to go through certification. Frictional Games doesn’t elaborate on the specifics, but the delay is an oddity, for sure.

One other issue to note is that whileAmnesia: The Bunkerwasannounced by Xbox as an Xbox Game Pass Day One titlewhen it had its initial March release date, no word regarding the Xbox Game Pass launch has been made since. While no official statement has been made statingAmnesia: The Bunkeris no longer an Xbox Game Pass title, it’s possible plans have changed. On the other hand, it’s just as possible the delay is being made so thatAmnesia: The Bunkeris ready for Xbox Game Pass as planned.

A delay of just one week shouldn’t be too frustrating forhorror game fanslooking forward toAmnesia: The Bunker. Those interested in playingAmnesia: The Bunkerwill just have to adjust their schedule a week for the updated release date. No other changes have been made to Frictional’s plans.

Amnesia: The Bunkerreleases May 23 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
