Netflix released a new promo highlighting 28 original films expected to hit the popular streaming platform this year. From Rian Johnson’sKnives Outsequel to the Russo brothersThe Gray Man, the streaming platform looks to expand with jaw-dropping content, expected to be released every week.
Knives Out 2is just one of the 86 original films expected to hit Netflix in 2022, which significantly outnumbers the 70 titles released last year. The binge-watching element the streaming platform provides doesn’t appear to be in short supply, but now audiences have some exciting new original films to sink their teeth into as well.

“Tonight is movie night,” states Jennifer Lopez, the first to appear in the new trailer, promoting her upcoming project,The Mother. The Netflix original places Lopez in the shoes of an assassin coming out of hiding to protect a daughter she left early in life from threatening assailants. The beginning of the Netflix promo is subtle, but it maneuvers to more exciting projects the streaming platform has under its sleeve.Netflix recently shared images ofThe Adam Project, but now audiences can witness new footage of the original. The film, starring Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldaña, Jennifer Garner, and Walker Scobell, will center around a pilot traveling back in time to team up with his father and younger self to save the world.
The Adam Projectlooks to premiere on March 11th on Netflix, but even more surprises followed to make their long-awaited appearance. The quick footage placed Jamie Foxx center stage in his new originalDay Shift, followed by Ryan Gosling in the anticipated Joe and Anthony Russo projectThe Gray Man, which will also star Chris Evans. In addition, audiences were provided a glimpse of Chris Hemsworth in his new original filmSpiderhead, followed by Jason Momoa inSlumberland. The trailer gave other notable previews to films such asGuillermo del Toro’sPinocchio,They Cloned Tyrone,Enola Holmes 2,End of the Road,You People,Me Time, and more. Kerry Washington and Charlize Theron were included in exciting new footage for their originalThe School for Good and Evil, but the most captivating reveal was undoubtedly the quick tease given forKnives Out 2.
Netflix acquired the rights to construct two sequels for the Daniel Craig-led narrative last year, and it looks as if the content is on the horizon. Alongside Craig,Knives Out 2will starDave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., and more.
The year looks bright with newprojects coming from Halle Berry, Adam Sandler, Tyler Perry, and others. Netflix appears to be on a mission to provide engaging content to audiences, with the cherry on top being the weekly release of something new. It will be exciting to see more from these projects as their releases draw closer, but until then, this preview is enough to build excitement for a jam-packed cinematic year.
