The following content contains spoilers from Season 6, episodes 1 & 2 ofMy Hero AcademiaRumi Usagiyama, better known as the Rabbit Hero Mirko, literally popped out of nowhere to steal the show as Season 6 ofMy Hero Academiakicks off andeven has the title of episode 2completely dedicated to her. What makes Mirko, the No. 5 Hero so special?

Not only is she the top-ranking Japanese Pro-Heroine, but she is also one of the few in her profession to not be affiliated with a Hero agency. Not much was known about this bunny enthusiast until recently, but her Quirk can evidently dominate on the battlefield and has left Mirko with all the power in her paws as the Jaku Hospital invasion gets underway.

The Ravishing Rambunctious Rabbit

This curvacious cottontail is essentially a bunny on steroids that produces similar results as The Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog fromMonty Python and the Holy Grail(however, with significantly more sex appeal!) Mirko’s fluffy white ears aren’t just for show (nor part of her costume) as they act as sound amplifiers, embuing this babe with incredible hearing. Her muscular physique is equally advantageous and grants Mirko superior strength, with enough potency to decapitate an enemy with just her thighs alone with a move eloquently namedLuna Tijeras.

Mirko’s kicks alone are enough to incapacitate an unsuspecting foe, and as a result, she favors her footwork during close combat. Her phenomenal leg strength also grants this Rabbit Hero advanced mobility, as she hops across great distances to reach her target, or evade the enemy’s attack with ease. When Rumi cartwheels into aLuna Ringattack, she is able to take down multiple foes simultaneously with what is considered to be one of thefastest move sets inMy Hero Academia.Luna Fallis another powerhouse that amplifies Mirko’s Axe Kick, targeting whichever unfortunate foe is directly beneath her. This Energizer bunny’s robust legs also pack enough punch to effectively cancel out the impact of Robot’s (the High End Nomu) laser beam assault.

My Hero Academia: Mirko, The Rabbit Hero’s Quirk, Explained Rabbit vs Nomus Season 6 episode 2

Rumi shares even more similarities with the like-minded lupins, as her keen survival instincts are quite animalistic in nature, not to mention extremely effective. Like any attentive bunny, Mirko is always on high alert and is often aware of any nearby enemies, making her a tricky vixen to sneak up on, and even harder to capture. The formidable Rabbit Quirk bestows the No. 5 Hero with additional destructive powers whereby she can smash the ground to pieces with a just few well-placed kicks, Cementoss style!

Magestic Mirko vs. Notirius Nomus

During the Hospital invasion inSeason 6 ofMy Hero Academia, Mirko is the first to come across a hoard of low-tier Nomus during her solitary search for the doctor, however, she doesn’t seem phased in the slightest (rather eager for bloodshed, in fact.) The No 5 Hero likely took out the whole group with her potent kicks and simply carried on her search, barely slowing down at all. After Dr. Ujiko (aka Dr. Kyudai Garaki) escapes yet again, Mirko’s hearing is so sensitive that she can discern the doctor’s tinkering about and muttering to himself in another room, with enough precision to pinpoint his exact location, making her the perfect candidate for this search-and-capture mission.

Before she can get her hands on Dr. Ujiko, the brave bunny finds herselfmust take down no less than four High-End Nomus, but thanks to her advanced strength, sharp reflexes, and incredible speed, the superpowered zombies struggle to effectively land a punch. Mirko continues fighting without breaking her stride after Robot’s Quirk twists her arm like silly string, rendering it completely useless, while the No. 5 Hero simply flexes how high her pain threshold truly is (and even the Nomus couldn’t hide their awe!) The injured Hero simply says “ow” and shows minimal discomfort as she carries on with her quest, still possessing enough stamina to use Luna Tijeras on Robot, subsequently separating his head and body.

Meanwhile, Crust and a group of Pro-Heroes are left to take down a single High-End Nomu, however, they seem to be struggling with that particular task. They are desperately trying to make their way to the secret laboratory to offer Mirko some assistance, but it appears that the Rabbit Hero needs to help them take down the one Nomu blocking their path. The contrasting situations suggest that Mirko isthe perfect Hero for this particular jobas she seems to possess all the right stuff to take the Nomus down and locate the elusive doctor, unassisted (so far).

Girl Power! (For a Change)

My Hero Academiais a very male-dominated shonen that doesn’t often hand the spotlight over to the ladies for very long once the conflict begins. However, Mirko is thefirst female with a fight scenethat extends over several episodes (and more than one chapter in the Manga.) True, several young women have been highlighted during battles, such as Ochaco, Tsu, Ms. Midnight, and Mt Lady, but they are generally shown as support characters, leaving the important work to the big boys instead.

The hospital invasion is a pivotal moment in the Paranormal Liberation War as it essentially sets the tone for the rest of the battle; whoever gains the upper hand after this first wave of assaults will have more control over how things pan out further down the line. The Heroes can no longer hide under the guise of ignorance as they have now officially “blown their cover” and have laid all their eggs in one basket in the hopes of eradicating the enemy in one foul swoop.

Even if there are villainous stragglers who manage to escape, subduing Dr. Ujiko could cause a significant ripple effectwithin the Paranormal Liberation Front, which would be significantly weaker without their beloved Nomus. Mirko is currently the Heroes' best bet at toppling the anarchy and subsequently giving the girls some well-deservedkickass representation in the process.

Season 6 ofMy Hero Academiais currently streaming onCrunchyroll, with new episodes released on Saturdays.
