Summary
My Hero Academiachapter 414 dropped earlier and it is safe to say that this week’s chapter was nothing short of fantastic for the fans. After 3 weeks of break, which was largely due to the author’s deteriorating health,My Hero Academiareturns once again and, Horikoshi just goes on to show why his story is loved by so many and why his characters are beloved by people all over the world. As was expected, the battle between Deku and Shigarakicontinued in this week’s chapter, with quite a lot of it focusing on the process of transferring quirks from Deku to Shigaraki.
While that was at the center of the chapter, it was filled with some of the most incredible action, and of course, emotion at the same time. Horikoshi highlighted his biggest strengths in the most incredible fashion in this week’s chapter, and fans are very grateful for that.

Deku Fights Back Against Shigaraki
My Hero Academiachapter 414 opened with Deku fighting back against Shigaraki. Of course, Deku was using the power of Gear Shift until recently, however, utilizing this dangerous power means that Deku cannot move his body anymore. As a result, the only way that he could get around this is to use his creativity which he did in a marvelous fashion. Deku’s battle IQ is very high and this was something that was put on display once again inMy Hero Academiachapter 414. He coated his entire body with Blackwhip and used it to move himself around, almost as if he were a puppet of himself. This worked phenomenally well and Deku was actually able to move around effortlessly.
This shockedall the previous vestiges of the One For All, and Shigaraki as well. It just goes to show how determined Deku is to win this fight and, at the same time, how strongly he believes in his ideals and wants to get the job done. Using the power of Blackwhip, Deku was able to move around the battlefield effortlessly and come up with a proper plan of fighting back against Shigaraki. Of course, the thought process here is to transfer gear shift to Shigaraki, which would not only alleviate Deku’s body but also weaken Shigaraki himself. However, the problem is that One For All and all its elements can only be transferred willingly. Deku would need to share his DNA with Shigaraki in order to transfer the quirk, however, given the regeneration rate of the latter, it is a task that is almost impossible.

The Plan To Transfer Quirks Begins
My Hero Academiachapter 414 made it quite clear that the process of transferring quirks was going to be very difficult, however, Kudo came up with an incredible plan thatrelied on injuring Shigarakiin a split second and then transferring Deku’s blood inside. Through this exchange of DNA, One For All would essentially be moved into Shigaraki’s body and, with that, this incredible battle finally get started. Deku made use of all his incredible powers, starting with Smokescreen. He surrounded the entire battlefield with Smokescreen and as soon as Shigaraki set his rot and tried to destroy the entire country, Deku revealed that he had already made preparations to counter that. Using the power of Blackwhip, Deku lifted the entire landmass that Shigaraki had set rot to, and then made full use of Smokescreen to deceive him in battle.
While Shigaraki certainly has the power of Search, using which he can track Deku, he was deceived by this ability tracking down his blood instead. Shigaraki was also deceived by Deku using his scarf, meanwhile, Deku himself had used all his powers to sneak up on him and deliver a powerful punch directly to his body. While Shigaraki certainly did notice this, it was already too late by this point and his entire body, which was rejecting this punch from Deku and trying to defend itself from it dearly, paid the price. Deku connected with his powerful punch and, with that, Kudo old was finally transferred inside Shigaraki.

The void inside him, which represents his past experiences and his pain was directly targeted by Kudo, which meant that the plan to defeat shigaraki was finally working.
Deku and Shigaraki’s Memories
Surprisingly,My Hero Academiachapter 414 showcased anoverlap of memories between Deku and Shigaraki. Now that Deku’s DNA is inside Shigaraki’s body and his own quirk has moved, fans could see these two connect on an entirely different plane. Deku could see Shigaraki suffering right from the beginning all the way to the point where he is right now, while Shigaraki could do the exact same, only in his case, he could see Deku starting from being a Quirkless boy to the point where he is right now. This incredible exchange of memories will better help them understand each other and just goes to show that they need to get a grasp of each other’s true feelings to finally come to a proper agreement. Deku does not intend to kill Shigaraki and Shigaraki does not intend to give way and wants to press forward with his plans. Neither is ready to give up, and this exchange of memories is most likely going to aid in that regard.
This was only made possible due to Deku connecting with Shigaraki with his powerful punch, however, that certainly was not enough. Deku had to keep going and that is why it appears that the next one that he wants to transfer has already been loaded up in his fist. The sixth user of One For Allappears to be the person that Deku wants to transfer, and he will most likely hit Shigaraki with a ferocious strike that transfers the next Quirk as well. This assault needs to be kept up if Deku intends to weaken Shigaraki to a point where the One For All can properly be transferred and that, along with much else, will most likely be targeted inMy Hero Academiachapter 415.

Judging by the way this fight is going, it appears that it won’t last for too long and will most likely wrap up within the next three or four chapters. That said, it is clearly proving to be one of the very best ones inMy Hero Academia, if not the very best. Fans have been thoroughly enjoying what they are witnessing and, hopefully, the last few chapters will keep up this amazing intensity before My Hero Academia then moves on to the post-war arc, and starts the preparations for wrapping up this brilliant series.
