Fans have had quite a few questions aboutMortal Kombat 11’supcomingAftermathDLC, which will take place after the events of the main game. However,Aftermath’sDLC characters— Sheeva, Fujin, and Robocop — have been of particular interest, as dropping the three at once is a change from whatMortal Kombat 11has done up until now.
Luckily for players, it isn’t necessary to purchase the DLC to unlock the new characters — at least not the entire thing. Each character will be available as a standalone purchase, according to new leaks, letting players pick and chose which ones they want to add to their roster. That should make the price more digestible to those that don’t want to drop $40 onAftermath.

The leaks come from the Nintendo eShop and SteamDB, both of which have had information leaked in the past thanks to early listings. Judging by the eShop leak, each character will be available for $5.99 individually, falling in line with some of the game’s other DLC characters. Judging by the listings, fans should also be able to buy the characters the dayAftermathreleases, May 26.
Aftermathis peculiar, as releasing a story DLC a full year after launch was unexpected forMortal Kombat 11,especially considering how secondary the story is to the overallMortal Kombatexperience. Still, the new characters are a major draw for many, and may well be the selling factor for those that do want to pick up the DLC. Still, having the characters available separately is a good move, as the complete DLC package is on the spendy side.
DLC characters likeAsh Williamshave also leaked, though it isn’t clear when or if they’ll be added to the game. Each reveal thus far has been exciting, and new fighters are always a cool way to spice up the game, but it’s hard to tell when the next characters will be revealed, particularly because fans are now getting three of them at once.
Aftermathwill release in just a few short weeks, but until then, players have a healthy roster of characters likeJokerand Spawn to battle as.
Mortal Kombat 11Aftermathwill release on May 26 for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
