Although Microsoft was quick to remove the clip, it was enough to get eager Xbox fans excited,highlighting the Series X’s packagingalongside an unedited look at the console unit itself.
For those who weren’t fast enough to catch the now-removed video, Japanese publication Game Watch has recently debuted an official unboxing, with the outlet opening up anXbox Series Xretail unit in a recent article. While there’s unfortunately not a video, Game Watch shares a number of images of the process, highlighting the console, its box art, and what comes included with the purchase of a Series X.

Although fans got a pretty good glimpse of the packaging through the aforementioned leaked video, it’s worth reiterating what a solid job Microsoft has done of making its newest console look like a desirable piece of hardware. Although the box art itself is nothing too spectacular - featuring a shot of the console up front and a largeHalo Infiniteimage on the back - the way the packaging unveils the Series X is much more interesting. As described by Game Watch, the box “pulls up from the front like a treasure box,” which, when shown in the accompanying images, definitely seems like an apt description.
The box sleekly presents the Series X, with just the console itself positioned in the center on cushioning material with a note reading “jump in.” Behind it is a black box that contains all the essential requirements for players, including an HDMI cable, a power cable, a set of batteries, and, of course, anXbox Series X controller. Overall, it’s definitely some of the most enticing console packaging of the last few generations, making Xbox’s newest hardware appear like a premiere product worthy of its $499 asking price.

Microsoft specifically has done a great job of selling the features that make the Series X so special, recently revealing that players can suspend up to five games at any given time and jump back to exactly where they left off in seconds using the quick launch feature. This can even be done after leaving the console unplugged for 24 hours, truly highlighting the power of the Series X’s upgraded hardware.
