This new tease implies that the sequel will be following in the footsteps of its predecessor. At the time, details onMonster Hunter Stories 2and any potential amiibo are scarce. However, Play-Asia’s listings should give some idea of what is coming. Currently, there are three amiibo likely coming to the game. While there are only item numbers, retail codes, and figure names, that is enough to decipher the mystery.

From the post, gamers will be able to collect a Heroine, Rathalos, and Felyne amiibo for the new title. Heroine is fairly self-explanatory, in that it will be a figure design of the female main character forMonster Hunter Stories 2. Fans of the series will instantly recognize the name Rathalos, as it is a signature beast. The massive Flying WyvernRathalos has been beatenand harvested countless times throughoutMonster Hunterhistory. On the listing, the third figure is Airou. But that is Felyne in Japanese, and referring to the small cat-like Palico species found in the series.

Amiibo are a fun way for players to interact with a new game outside of the software. While other Nintendo features disappear over time, its line ofamiibo figures and cards continue to grow. It is good to see that despite being a spin-off,Monster Hunter Stories 2is still apparently getting unique figures. Though the in-game benefits are still unknown, it will likely be similar to the first game.

Of course, this news may come as a disappointment to some. A recent competition announcement forMonster Hunter Risereveals amiibo with a solid golddesign. It is unlikely that the figures for the spin-off title will be as glamorous. In addition, hopeful gamers may expect figures that are more original. Using the main character and the classic sidekick cat may not be particularly impressive to various players. Nevertheless, the amiibo forMonster Hunter Stories 2will provide a great collectible for fans.
