However, the development team has been revealing tidbits of information on social media, including details of new endemic life in The Citadel such as the Marionette Spider, and how hunters can utilize them in their future hunts.
Most fans will likely recall that endemic life played a small role as collectibles in Capcom’sMonster Hunter WorldandIceborneseries. Players often hunt and capture these creatures, then proudly display them in their hunter accommodations in either Astera or Seliana.Monster Hunter Riseendemic lifeplays a bigger function, with some birds or snakes providing players with buffs, while others even allow hunters to instigate chaotic turf wars between two angry monsters. WithSunbreakoffering a brand-new location for gamers to explore, it is not surprising for Capcom to add new creatures that players can use when going head-to-head with a monster.

On the officialMonster Hunter RiseTwitter account, a short clip showcasing the only knownSunbreakendemic life was shared by the team. Briefly featured during the most recentMonster Hunter Rise: Sunbreakdigital event, the Marionette Spider is a fluffy blue spider that can be found around The Citadel. According to the official site, it is related to the Puppet Spider, which is another creature endemic to the lands surrounding Kamura Village, and offers a similar feature of manipulating monster movement with its web.
The main difference with the Marionette Spider, however, is that its function is very similar to theIceborneClutch Claw hunter tool. The footage shows how the hunter uses the Marionette Spider’s web to turn the monster’s head towards another direction, effectively slamming them towards a wall to knock them down.Iceborneplayers will likely recognize this unique gameplay aspect that was first introduced in theMonster Hunter Worldexpansion.
So far, in terms of new endemic life inMonster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak,Capcom has only shared information about the Marionette Spider. As the launch date of the expansion draws closer, the team will likely give fans more in-game details. Hopefully this will entice the community to get back on the hunting grid of theMonster Hunterseries.
