One of the toughest threats players will encounter inModern Warfare Zombiesis the Terminus Outcomes force littered throughout Urzikstan. Players will regularly encounter these deadlymercenaries in encampments and strongholdsand fight them off in various missions and contracts, including the Defend Ground Station contract.
Identifiable on the tac-map by thecontract phone icon with a shield crested with a beret-wearing skull, the Defend Ground Station contract will have players hold a position against an onslaught of mercenary forces as they attempt to eliminate players and halt the data transfer.

A new contract forCall of Duty: Zombies, this contract focuses primarily onfighting Terminus Outcomes forces. Themost difficult of all the contracts, players shouldbe ready for an intense fightwhen attempting this contract. With good team coordination and focus, players can easily push back the Terminus forces andclaim the reward riftfor this contract.
Completing Defend Ground Control
Afterplayers grab the contract phonefor Defend Ground Control, players will have tosearch the area for three seismic refractors. They will be marked for players with blue indicators - head to each location andinteract with the refractors to turn them on.
Once all three seismicrefractors are operational, they will begin sending data to a nearby computerwith a radio station - the station will be marked with an indicator after all the refractors are active. Head to the station andinteract with the computer to beginthe data transmission. The moment the transmission starts, mercenaries will begin flooding the area to destroy the computer, stopping the transmission and causing any data the refractors gathered to be lost.

Players can take as much time as necessary toset up the area around the radio station prior to activating the transmission.Players can use this opportunity toset up mines, sentry guns, or any other defensesin the area to help stop the advancing mercenaries - remember, they will focus on attacking the computer, only deviating if players are directly in the way. Take advantage of this when deploying defenses in the contract’s mission area.
Once players begin the transmission, they musthold the area for three minutesfor all the data to be safely sentback to Operation Deadbolt headquarters. Enemies willspawn in waves; keepan ear out forthe sound of smoke grenades to give away when and from where mercenaries are approaching. In addition to grunts and armored soldiers, players will encounterseveral recon mercenaries and two or three shielded mercs, depending on the pacing of enemy spawns.

In the Low Tier Threat Zone, occasionally, the contract will complete before the third shielded merc reaches the contract mission area, causing him to retreat and potentially meaning players won’t need to deal with the third shield to complete the contract. Players will typically have to deal withthree waves of Terminus- one spawning each minute. If players canquickly drop a wave of assaulting enemies, they will get a brief break to reload and replatebefore dealing with the next wave of enemy forces.
If players cankeep any health on the computer as the timer reaches zero, the contract will completeand players will receive a reward rift. When the contract is completed, any remaining mercenaries will begin to retreatunless they are already firing on players - drop any active enemy combatants before approaching the reward rift toclaim any bonus acquisitions.
It is important totake cover close to the radio station during the defenseprocess, asit does not take much damage for the computer to be destroyed. If players are not in a position to cover all lines of sight on the computer,a mercenary or two can quickly sneak into position and unleash enough damage to threaten or even terminate the contract.
Best Weapons and Equipment for Defend Ground Control
As players will be mostly dealing with mercenaries during this contract, mid to long-range weapons will excelat helping keep the Terminus forces away.Armor-piercing rounds can be a huge aid, especially when attempting this contract in the Tier II Threat Area.Battle Rifles like the BAS-Bcan quickly output a large amount of precision damage, making quick work of the advancing armored assailants.
Thecluster mine and sentry gun killstreaksare excellent defense tools for this contract, andlethal equipment like proximity mines and claymorescan create an impassable field of explosives. Players shouldtake advantage of the time before activating the transmissionto set up any available equipment in the rucksack. Defend Ground Station contracts can be a breeze if players are able to strategize their defense tools appropriately.
For worst-case scenarios, the Kazimir Device tactical is highly effective and instantly disabling and eventually eliminating mercenariesas well as zombies. Keep one on hand to throw if mercenaries catch players off guard and begin dealing heavy damage to the computer -drop the blackhole device, and the mercenaries will immediately begin fighting the pull of the blackhole, stopping them from damaging the radio station.
Players should alsokeep in mind the shielded enemies that will deployamong the advancing forces. A well-thrownthermite grenade can be highly effectiveat dispatching the shielded foes almost instantly, along with a customized crossbow with any of the special tipped arrows(thermite and blast cap arrows being most effective on riot shields).
Best Ammo Mods for Defend Ground Control
Ammo Mods arenot quite as effective against mercenariesas they are against zombies, so players do not need to worry about their ammo mod making or breaking their chances of completing this contract. If players are considering an ammo modto ease a Defend Ground Station contract,Napalm Burst will have the highest probability of activation when firing on mercenaries.
Napalm Burst can also be highly effective ateliminating armored mercenaries- unfortunately,Shatter Blast procs very infrequently against mercenaries, making it an unreliable choice for dealing with armored mercenary soldiers.
Brain Rot can beuseful in the higher threat tierswhere zombies are more likely to randomly spawn in the contract mission area. Aturned zombie can not only help pull focus off playersand the computer but also willcatch and kill mercenariesthat are tunnel-focused on shooting the radio station.
Best Perks for Defend Ground Control
The most critical perk that aids with the Defend Ground Control contract isSpeed Cola. Being able toreload and replate as fast as possiblewill give players the edge against the swarming enemies.
Players will typically go through several plates during this contract, acquiring more plates when dropped by defeated mercenaries, soreducing the amount of time needed to complete the replate action equates to more time managing the number of enemy forces. Especially with the heavier Battle Rifles and LMGs, which are excellent choices for penetrating the armor of Terminus mercenaries,Speed Cola is quintessentialto ensuring success.Needing to reload for several seconds can be the factor that allows the mercenaries to overwhelm playersand rapidly destroy the transmission station.
Players should alsoconsider the Death Perception perk, whichgives players foresight of all enemy positions, regardless if they are alive or undead. This factor, combined with the audio cue of the smoke grenades the mercenaries use when they deploy into the area, can give players a huge advantage andallow players to stay one step ahead of every mercenary, surprising them from around corners and dropping each enemy immediately and before they can react.
Players may also want toconsider PHD Flopper for this contract, especially if planning to rely on a field of explosives to defend the station. While claymore mines give players more directional control, proximity mines and cluster mines explode in a circular area, and players can accidentally get caught in their own blast radius if they are not careful.PHD Flopper completely negates any explosive backsplash, allowing players to deploy mines as dangerously close as they prefer.
