Players will have to race against the clock to gear up, take down missions and mini-bosses, and successfully excel inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’sopen world zombies mode. Similar toWarzone 2.0 DMZ,a successful exfil will allow players to keep an equipped plate vest, backpack, gas mask, and armamentif equipped at the end of the match. Additionally, players can exfil legendary tactical equipment like cymbal monkeys and Kazimir black hole devices,along with acquisitions and schematicsthat can be used to boost operators on future deployments.
Players must be careful, as once the timer hitsthe final fifteen-minute segment, they will run intoincreased exfil difficulty, and slowly run out of exfil locations.Players must manage their time wisely in order to maximize productivity on missions while escaping successfully -any operator that does not exfil from the infected area will be lost to the storm.
Similar to the Pack-a-Punch machines, the exfil locations willrotate through the same few spawn locations, alternating on each deployment. Since the locations are not completely random, players canplan their deployment accordingly, working through missions and contracts towards one of the available extraction locations. There are usuallythree or four exfil locations available along the outer ring of the mission areaand only one available in the Tier II or Tier III threat areas. Due to the significant number of zombies and special zombies that spawn during the exfil process,players should be cautious about attempting to exfil in a higher threat area.It will take a few moments for the exfil helicopter to land and again to take off, so make sure weapons are upgraded as much as possible andresources like cymbal monkeys, Kazimir devices, or field upgrades like Frost Blast or Energy Mine are available.
Once players have begun progressingthrough Operation Deadbolt missions, they will be able to exfil at any point in time (players who are just dropping into Modern Warfare Zombies may be required to complete a contractin order to receive radio communication from Operation Deadbolt about exfil now being available). When players have completed any necessary mission or desired contracts, they can head to one of the exfil locations and call in the chopper.
Players willhave 45 minutesof play time before the storm begins to close and slowlystart to impact the exfil process- first,locations closest to the origin point will be encompassed by the storm and will no longer be available for use. The pickup locations on the outside of the map will allow regular exfil at first, but shortly will sayexfil is delayed until the final 3-minute mark, giving all players the opportunity to exfil. This can work against players, however,as the storm can overtake the exfil location while waiting for the final helicopter,making playerssurvive through Tier II zombies in incredibly low visibility,all while slowly losing health if a gas mask if not available.
If players do not wish to lose their operator or the loot collected during the current mission,it is best to head for extraction during the final ten minutes of the first 45-minute timer and be on the helicopter and out in the first minute of the final 15-minute timer.
Securing High Tier Loot
Since players can leave at anytime, it is highly recommended toconsider the value of loot found after completing contractsor clearing aether nestsor strongholds.Players canfind ultra-rare acquisitions and schematics in any area of the map, and with luck can even find a schematic for a personal favorite perk, soda or ammo mod,after completing the first contracton deployment.
If players find a recipe or schematic that is highly desired, they canopt to head immediately to exfil and secure the items.Alternatively, if players find their rucksack is full of valuable acquisitions likemultiple aether crystals or perk soda cans, head toexfil and deposit the items in the acquisition stash for future deployments.
Players can best farm for loot by rushing throughcontracts in the Tier I threat zone- while the chances of higher tier rewards increases when completing contracts in more difficult threat areas, players can quickly andeasily complete multiple tasks in the low threat area, and can complete up to 10 contracts in a single deployment if focused and efficient, givingmore rewards overall and helping players rapidly acquire schematicsand legendary/epic acquisitions.
When rushing through contracts, be sure tokeep an eye on the timerand begin heading toward extraction before the final fifteen-minute timer begins.Players do not want to get lost in the stormand leave behind all the loot just earned.
