Minecraft Dungeonsis a bit of a miracle. While not perfect, it is a good game. Who knew that theMinecraftbrand could work so well in aDiablostyled game? It isn’t a complete clone of that series. In fact, there are a lot of things missing from it and the action RPG dungeon crawling genre one would hope to find.

These ten suggestions range from easy fixes to something akin to an expansion, or perhaps even a complete overhaul. Will these ever get into the game? It’s hard to say, but that really isn’t the point. It’s time to make some wishes!

10Character Customization

There is a wealth of options for avatars, both male and female, one can choose at the start of the game. However, it would also be nice to be able to customize characters.

This feature has been around forever so not having one in a game like this, however, limited, is strange. On top of that, being able to customize one’s camp would also be a nice option to allow players a sense of personal touch.

9Add Classes

This would be a dramatic overhaul to the game, which means it probably won’t happen. As it stands now playing with friends has no diversity. Sure, one could be the ranged character, but as everyone has a bow, it is sort of pointless.

Classes exist to diversify parties and to imbue them with unique personalities. Creating a Diablo-like game without them is wild. The overallRPGmechanics leave something to be desired.

8Some Kind Of Crafting

This is Minecraft. Where is the crafting? It is understandable to not allow players to destroy dungeons. That could potentially break them.

However, why can’t campsites be customized as it was mentioned earlier? This would be a perfect place to allow more classicMinecraftskills. What about even allowing players to craft weapons? With a name likeMinecraft, there needs to be this element in some regard.

7Online Gameplay

At launch, players can only group up with friends. This means random people cannot be met. This also means that parties cannot be split between local and online sessions.

For example, if two people are on the sameXbox Oneand want to play with another friend online, that is not possible. Mojang said these issues will be fixed over time, but gave no timetable to them.

6Crossplay

Another aspect of multiplayer, that deserves its own entry, is cross-play between consoles. This does not only apply to Microsoft products either. Players can eventually join up between Xbox One and PC games along withSwitchand PS4 too.

Mojang has confirmed this, but again, gave no hint as to when this would happen. This is strange at launch consideringMinecraftwas one of the first big examples of a game that allowed crossplay between multiple platforms.

5Solo Pausing

When playing online games with friends, it makes sense to not allow players to pause the game. This would force others to wait on them. So taking that option out in likeDestinymakes sense.

However, it makes less sense when playing by oneself. Hopefully, Mojang will fix this although it is not that detrimental comparatively.

4Better Loot

There is a lot of loot in the game but said loot lacks diversity. One sword looks the same as another except for maybe some different enchantment possibilities.

There are different types of weapons, which unlock more as one quests forward in the game, but nothing ever feels that unique. Not only that but the shops also lack an element of diversity as they provide only random loot.

3Expendable Items

There are several pieces of equipment, all of which operate on recharges. Potions are limitless, for example, but must recharge between uses. Artifacts operate like items like the firework that can be applied to arrows in order to create explosions.

This is good in some sense, but not having disposable items is a bit of a letdown. They do exist but are consumed right away like food. Giving players the option to horde items like bread might imbalance the game so it’s understandable why they don’t exist, but there are ways to fix this issue.

2A Run Button

On the subject of items, there are two ways to make the player move faster. One, there are artifacts that activate small bursts of speed for a limited time.

There are also consumable drops that do this. It would be nice if both these options increased the speed even further. Not only that, but allowing players to naturally run faster would make the repetitive dungeon grind a lot less strenuous.

1Camera Zoom

This final note is another small gripe, but one option that would be thankful in an update. Allow players to zoom the camera in and or operate it.

The camera does pan out with friends onscreen to allow more visibility but there is no way to adjust it on the fly. Not being able to spin or zoom makes it difficult to see some things clearly.
