Lost Arkis the new big online RPG of 2022, coming from obscurity to replace the ailingNew Worldas Amazon Game’s MMO meal ticket. The game’s benefited from various factors, including a great early game experience, exposure from popular Twitch streamers, and the vacuum created byWorld of Warcraft’slong-term decline. These circumstances allowed it to flourish in spite of a buggy launch, multiple server issues, and excessively long queue times in some regions.

Developer Smilegate rolled out a significant update in the early hours of yesterday morning.Lost Ark’sservers went offline for about three hours as the developers rolled out a major patch. The update included multiple bug fixes while also laying the groundwork for a new server region.

The developer announced the update onLost Ark’sTwitter account and provided a link to the full patch notes on the game’s official forums. It contains fixes for seven ofLost Ark’s multiple known issues, two of which related to the game’s premium currency and cash shop. One fix resolved a bug that prevented players from getting their Royal Crystals refunded at the game’s Currency Exchange. The developers also fixed the connection issues that some players experienced with the game’s store.

The patch also resolves a glitch whereLost Ark’sNorthern Lawmaker skin wouldn’t display correctly if the player character died while wearing it. In addition, it repaired several glitches withLost Ark’suser interface. For example, the patch fixes a glitch with Procyon’s Compass schedule where it displayed incorrect times for the limited-time Adventure Island areas.

It also solves a known issue where emoticons appear as text when sent between players with different language settings. Lastly, as far as the UI issues are concerned, developers fixed a bug where the UI didn’t scale correctly on non-native resolutions. The latter glitch reportedly came from a problem with howLost Arkinteracts with DirectX 11.

The remaining updates were specific toLost Ark’sEuropean servers. This included addingLost Ark’s European West server region. Eight new servers launched later that day under the names Rethramis, Tortoyk, Moonkeep, Stonehearth, Shadespire, Tragon, Petrania, and Punika. The developer also stated that it would roll out additional servers as needed. The same patch also resolved a glitch where the game randomly booted players on Central European servers.

Hopefully, the recent update proves to be a massive improvement, particularly for European players. If it can, it seems like the troubled Amazon Games finally has a genuine hit on its hands. Of course, that’s bound to be small comfort forthe remainingNew Worldfans.
