Fans of this series first got a whiff ofFinal Fantasy 7getting a remake in 2005 when a PS3 trailer showcase was released as a tech demo. That’s all it was though, a tech demo, and yet fans demanded it to be real. Finally, after many years of waiting, the teaser trailer forFinal Fantasy 7 Remakewas unleashed in 2015 followed by a launch long after in 2020.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirthtook four years to release after that. Will it take another four years to make the finale of this trilogy? Maybe the team can punch out a sequel faster since they have a lot of open-world assets now. Whatever the case may be, fans are going to debate the following topics for years to come.WARNING! Spoilers ahead.

6Will Zack Or Aerith Return?
Will Fate Win, Or Can Players Defy It?
Based on the ending ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, it seemed like Aerith may live on to fight past the point where she was supposed to die. The core theme of that game is to defy fate. That theme is illustrated more clearly with thefinal stinger depicting Zacksurviving after getting rushed by Shinra soldiers on the mountaintop.
Well, even though it is slightly different, Aerith still dies in The Forgotten City. Now Cloud can see her as a vision but it’s unclear if she is actually Aerith or if Cloud is losing his mind. Zack stays dead as he was kind of like in a dream the whole time. Will these two ever get properly resurrected or will they be out of the story proper?

5How Will The Ending Differ?
Will It Go Beyond The Northern Crater?
In the original game, the gang finally heads back to the Northern Crater to face Sephiroth one last time. After his defeat, the team rushes out via airship and the Lifestream helps save the planet by destroying the meteor. Besides the flash forwardwith Red 13five hundred years into the future, that’s where things end.
Is that how the final part of this trilogy will end too or will it go a step beyond? For example, will there be a time skip into theFinal Fantasy 7: Advent Childrenstory? Will anyone else die or get resurrected like Aerith or Zack?

4Is Glenn Lodbrok Alive?
The Lies Of Sephiroth Continue
Even mega fans of the extendedFinal Fantasy 7universe may have been confused about the bearded man who showed up in Rufus’ office inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth. He’s given a name, Glenn Lodbrok, but even that may not ring a bell with players. That’s because Glenn is one of the main characters in the prequel storyline withinFinal Fantasy 7: Ever Crisiswhich is a mobile spinoff.
3Will Cid And Vincent Be Playable?
Will There Be Anyone Else?
Theimplementation of Cidand Vincent in this game is a bit odd. With Cid, it sort of makes sense to have him pilot the crew around. Vincent tagging along to fight Sephiroth also makes sense but what doesn’t make sense is that Vincent just hangs out in the background.
In the Temple of the Ancients, he could be doing things along with when he is in The Forgotten Capitol. He is shown to be a fighter whereas Cid not once talks about lancing fools. Will they be support characters, side characters, or playable characters in the final game? Also, will players be able to control anyone else besides the core crew for brief periods like how Zack and Sephiroth were playable inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

2How Will Wutai And Avalanche Factor Into The Narrative?
The Time For War Is Nigh
The conflict between Shinra and Wutai is barely addressed in the original game. The subsequent sequels and prequels likeBefore Crisis: Final Fantasy 7andCrisis Core: Core Final Fantasy 7flesh out this war a bit more. With this remake trilogy, it seems more apparent that there is going to be a battle scene between Wutai and Shinra again.
That seems to be Rufus’ goal although it is unclear why he wants to start another conflict. This would give players something new to experience in the final part and it could happen in the Wutai region which was just a side quest in the original version. Players could also stop the conflict before it begins, but by and large, Wutai will probably appear in some form.

1Will More Weapons Emerge?
From Diamond To Ultimate
The appearance of Weapons inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthwas a big change. In the original, Weapons weren’t unleashed until Sephiroth was resurrected in the Northern Crater. Players got to face off against Diamond, Ultimate, Ruby, and Emerald.
Besides Diamond, the other three were optional. Even thoughFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthintroduces Weapons, they aren’t bad. They even help Tifa when Sephiroth is trying to kill her in the Lifestream. Will they remain good in the final part of this trilogy or will Weapons become bosses?
