More information continues to be released regarding the highly anticipated event and what to expect, with even a few more surprises to be announced by Krafton atGamescom.

Gamescom is a yearly trade fair event held in Germany for video games and has recently beenhyped with big announcements by Geoff Keighley. Gamescom gives publishers and studios the chance to share upcoming video games to the public, such as Krafton, a South Korean video game company responsible for housing studios that most notably madePUBGandSubnautica, among others.

Krafton has announced that its presence at Gamescom will be guided by independent studios Striking Distance, whose team is headed byveteranDead Spacecreator Glen Schofield, and Unknown Worlds, the studio that made theSubnauticaseries. On August 23rd at Gamescom Opening Night Live Charlie Cleveland, co-founder of Unknown Worlds and game director, will officially reveal a brand-new IP, which has been described as having innovative turn-based gameplay set in a Sci-Fi world. On the same night, Glen Schofield will take the stage to show off more ofThe Callisto Protocol, a highly anticipated survival horror game heavily inspired byDead Space.

Striking Distance Studios will have a booth setup where players will have the opportunity to participate in what’s calledThe Callisto Protocol’sInmate Bioprocessing Scan Experience. This is described as a special photo opportunity that will give fans a sneak peek of the horrors that await them in the game when it releases on August 06, 2025. Kafton will also have a dedicated booth forUnknown Worldsat Gamescom where fans will be among the first to play its new game.

August 23rd is set to be a big day for game studios Unknown Worlds and Striking Distance.
