FormerGame of Thronesstar Kit Harington, who will be making his Marvel debut as the character Dane Whitman, revealed his thoughts onEternals' spoiled post-credits scene.
With any big film in an ongoing franchise, there will always be some hefty spoilers ready to spread like wildfire all across social media. That’s no different with Marvel Studios' upcomingEternals, as a number of people spoiled theEternalspost-credits scenefollowing its big world premiere, prompting stars from the film such as Kit Harington to add his thoughts about the incident.

“I honestly didn’t know it had. I’ve lived in a world where spoilers happen for a long time. I realize they can happen,” Harington said in a recent interview with The Playlist. “It’s just disappointing that people do it. Let people go to the cinema and experience it when they pay for their ticket and do it that way, rather than spreading it online where they might not realize they’re coming across stuff.” While any spoiler can be difficult to avoid (especially with the increased use of social media), MCU’s spoilers, in particular, may just be the hardest to ignore considering how many of these films tie into one overarching narrative.Harington’s Whitman character, a human being who is a professional colleague and love interest of Sersi (played by Gemma Chan), is unaware of Sersi’s Eternals background. Whitman of course also carries another name from the comics (Black Knight) that will most likely be delved into deeper later down the road in the MCU.
Harington would comment on the similarities between working onGame of Thronesto his MCU debut and collaborating with director Chloé Zhao, at first believing a large amount of CGI that is always present in a Marvel film would force the entire shoot to take place on a sound stage. “The interesting thing about “Thrones” is that it was so location-based. We shot so much not on a sound stage. And I expected with a movie like this with a Marvel movie to be in a sound stage the whole time, and all of my stuff was on location,” Harington recalled. “So that was a real gift and that was Chloe. You asked how it was working with Chloe. Chloe brought the way she shoots to the Marvel universe. And I think that’s what makes this movie what it is, is that it’s shot with a realism that I think is really fresh to this world.”
AlthoughEternalsis set up to be one of the MCU’s most ambitious films to date, with Zhao herself and several cast members claiming the story will have an enormous impact on the future,Eternalsis receiving mixed reviews from critics. While many first viewers are favoring Zhao’s unique style and approach to the MCU (considering her indie background with the films like her Oscar-winningNomadland), many are also claiming its story has too many characters and plotlines to juggle. Even with that knowledge, there is no doubtEternalswill serve as a refreshing change to an, at times, formulaic MCU.
