Released worldwide in spring 2017, Nintendo’s Switch represented an entirely new style of console for the iconic gaming company. Designed to be played either as a handheld device or hooked up to a TV, the Switch bridged the gap between devices like the Nintendo DS and more traditional consoles. Despite its unorthodox hardware design, the Switch has been a massive hit for Nintendo and is now the company’s best-selling home console ever. The latter half of 2023, in particular, will see the arrival of dozens of games from multiple genres and developers on the Nintendo Switch. While many of the titles listed in the infographic represent the sort of family-friendly fare that the iconic gaming company is typically associated with, the appearance of more mature games likeNetherRealm’s upcomingMortal Kombat 1show that Nintendo wants the Switch to have games that appeal to a wide range of players.
Some Redditors responding to the fan-made infographic seemed somewhat overwhelmed with the deluge of games headed to theNintendo Switch, with one respondent stating that the number of games they plan to buy in the coming year already outweighs the list of games they’ve already completed. Many comments expressed excitement at the number of Nintendo first-party titles set for release over the next year, with several responses highlighting theSuper Mario RPGremake as a standout game on their wishlist. Faced with so many must-have titles headed to the system, one Redditor stated that they might just “skip a Switch2 if it isn’t fully backward compatible” to get through their already massive backlog first.
