Halo Infinitehas finally been released, and the game is already seeing the arrival of a series of limited-time events called Fracture: Tenrai. The first wave of Fracture: Tenrai events brought a chance for players to unlock a selection of free samurai-themed cosmetics, including an Armor Core. The second wave will apparently bring the new Iron Eagle Armor Core to the game, and oneHalo Infinitefan has helpfully gathered every leaked image associated with the Armor Core so far.
Whilethe Yoroi Armor Coreis very clearly samurai-themed, the Iron Eagle Armor Core has a rounder, more solid design. Some fans have observed that the new armor resembles the thick, rounded plates of the power armor found in theFalloutfranchise.

Reddit user Haijakk compiled every leaked image of the Iron Eagle Armor Core that has been shared so far into a single post. Apparently, thenew Fracture: Tenrai eventwill give players a choice between at least five helmet designs–a default round one, one that resembles a hard hat, one that looks like a Stormtrooper’s helmet, one that resembles a Roman centurion’s helmet, and one that looks like the head of a mythical cyclops. It seems that they will either come in different colors or gamers will be able to customize their colors.
Haijakk also shared three full-body images of the Iron Eagle Armor Core, each of which hammers in the resemblance to theiconicFalloutpower armor. The primary differences seem to be that the Iron Eagle Armor Core is significantly less battered, rusted, or piecemeal than the power armor found in the wasteland. Instead, the leaks show an armor design that combines thick, rounded plates with accessories–including gloves and pouches–that seem to be inspired by modern military gear. However, theFalloutinspiration shows through when it comes to the Iron Eagle Armor Core’s left arm, which appears to be a skeletal metal prosthetic.
As of writing, it appears that other fans have a lot to say about the Iron Eagle Armor Core and what it represents. Several users replied to the post by theorizing that Microsoft could add more Armor Cores inspired by other properties toHalo Infinite. Some suggestions included Armor Cores inspired byDoom,Dishonored,StarCraft,Gears of War, andOverwatch. These options could add a lot of newarmor customization opportunities toHalo Infinite. However, other users expressed reluctance to see theHalofranchise start incorporating crossover armors.
Halo Infiniteis available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
