Mostanimeshows usually do a good job when bringing the manga source to life. Most of the time, fans don’t have to read the manga to get the full story in general, but there are some details that usually don’t make it in. Not everything can be brought to the screen, but it would’ve helped make theanimebetter.

Yona Of The Dawn anime

There are a fewharem anime shows that are great to watchbut didn’t complete the manga’s story. However, there are few who couldn’t bring the quality of the manga to the anime, and would’ve been great had they stayed true to the source material.

10Yona Of The Dawn Didn’t Finish The Manga’s Story

This is one anime that did a really good job adapting the manga. However, the anime never finished the story and this is one manga that would’ve been great to see on-screen. There is still so muchmore to tell and character developmentthat didn’t make it into the anime and left anime fans wanting more.

It’s been years since the anime came out and there doesn’t appear to be a second season on the horizon. If potential fans are interested in this series, the anime is a great way to see if the manga is worth investing in. Aside from some details missing, the anime stayed pretty true to the manga’s story.

Love Hina

9Love Hina Should’ve Stopped At 25 Episodes

Usually, more episodes are needed when it comes to adaptinga manga into a show, but this is one case where it should’ve stopped where it ended. TheLove Hinaanime did a pretty good job for the first 25 episodes, but it continued afterward. The two OVA specials were pretty good, but unnecessary. However,Love Hina Againhas received mixed to poor reviews and most fans tend to ignore it.

The manga does a much better job at story flow and an even better job at giving the characters more depth. Plus, it does have a better and more satisfying ending which is one of the reasons whyLove Hina Againis disliked.

Highschool Of The Dead anime

This isn’t a typical lovey-dovey harem anime, but it’s stilla pretty entertaining watch.Highschool of the Deadwas one of the most popular anime shows to come out in the early 2010s thanks to its good story and overly violent nature. It did have quite a bit of fanservice moments which came off as silly at times, but it didn’t just make the girls mindless or helpless. The girls in the group are some of the smartest and toughest characters in the series and could have easily been weak and helpless.

The anime stayed pretty true to the source material, but it only adapted the first four volumes and there are seven in total. Sadly with Daisuke Sato’s passing (the creator of the manga), the manga’s story will remain incomplete, but it’s still a great read and lets fans see what happens after the anime ends.

Kiss Him, Not Me

7Kiss Him, Not Me Scrambled The Order Of The Manga’s Chapters

This anime actually did a decent job of bringing the manga to life. Naturally, it did leave out some details from the manga that would’ve made the show a little better. However, the anime scrambled the order of the chapters it adapted which might’ve confused some anime-only fans, but it definitely left manga fans really confused about why this happened.

Plus, this show didn’t complete the manga’s story, and there’s still more to it. Watching theanime is a great wayto be introduced to the series, but the manga is much better and worth the read.

6Negima! Magister Negi Magi Did A Spinoff That Didn’t Happen In The Manga

The first series of the anime actually did a pretty job at following the manga, but the last few episodes were anime-exclusive. It cut out a lot of things from the manga and later chapters that came out after the anime wasreleased were adapted. However, it was only a few episodes so the overall series feels a little scattered and incomplete.

The anime-exclusive also ended up changing things that would leave any potential manga readers confused if they watched the anime first. It’s best to read the manga that way there’s no confusion.

5Trinity Seven Lost Some Of Its Essence As An Anime

While not everything in the manga can make it into the anime, the show should be able to keep the essence of the manga.Trinity Sevendid a decent job,but it just didn’t quite live up to the quality of the manga. It toned down some of the jokes from the manga which are a little more mature. It also scrambled the order of a few chapters that were adapted and quite a few of the scenes were cut down on time in the anime.

Overall, the anime isn’t terrible and is a pretty good watch, but the manga outdoes it in overall quality. If viewers of the anime want more, the manga is great and worth the time to read.

4Elfen Lied Changed Too Much From Its Manga Source

LikeHighschool of the Dead, this isn’t a lovey-dovey anime and most might not think of it as a harem, but it definitely has quite a bit of harem tropes. The anime is pretty good if watched by itself and fans don’t read the manga. However, if fans do read it, the amount of differences between the two is almost alarming. There were so many things in the manga that didn’t make it to the anime and anime-only fans are missing out.

Compared to the anime, the manga is almost like a completely different story. It does a better job telling Lucy’s backstory (which was only shown in an OVA episode), showing the real story ofsome characters like Mariko, and the anime didn’t include Nozomi, a female character that lives with Kouta and the others in Maple House. The manga is just overall better in quality and quantity.

3Fushigi Yuugi Really Didn’t Need The Eikoden Arc

TheFushigi Yuugianimedid a fantastic jobof staying true to the manga, but it continued past it. Normally, this wouldn’t be a bad thing, butFushigi Yuugi Eikodenwas really unnecessary. After all the drama and losing most of their friends, Taka/Tamahome and Miaka really deserved to live in peace.Eikodendecided to put them and their friends through one last journey. Sadly, Miaka wasn’t there for most of it and Taka was the main character for it.

While it was nice to see the deceased Suzaku Warrior members be reborn, the whole story wasn’t needed. The manga ends where the OVA ends and it does add a little more detail and ends on a better note.

2Rosario + Vampire Didn’t Do A Great Job Bringing The Manga To Life

If viewers were fans of theRosario + Vampireanime, the manga is miles better in every aspect. The parts missing from the manga made the show fall victim to being more about fanservice and less about the story. The manga’s story is actually pretty good and deep compared to what the anime showed. While the manga did have some fanservice moments, it was a little more refined about it.

Sadly, this has madeRosario + Vampireto be considered one of the worst anime adaptations. If fans watch the anime only, it’snot bad on its own. However, if fans read the manga series, it’s easily seen how the quality of the anime doesn’t hold up.

1Ouran High School Host Club Ended With An Anime-Exclusive Arc

This isconsidered one of the bestreverse harem anime shows, but it has one problem: the last arc didn’t even happen in the manga. This isn’t the first anime to have anime-exclusive arcs, but ending on one can be pretty frustrating and confusing. The ending left viewers with the hope that a new season would come, but that didn’t happen.

Needless to say, the manga is much better since it continued long after the anime. There was more character development and a lot more shenanigans the club got into that would’ve been great to see on-screen. Plus, the relationship between Tamaki and Haruhi got a chance to fully blossom which didn’t happen in the anime.
