Wired Productions and LKA have unveiled another chilling trailer for the upcoming psychological horror gameMartha Is Dead, which promises to blend together reality, superstition, and the tragedy of war in one nightmarish package. Although this trailer is largely an atmospheric piece that provides a glimpse into the tone and visuals available in the game, the mood it evokes is incredibly creepy.

The exact details ofMartha Is Dead’s storyremain somewhat unclear, but the game takes place in 1944 Italy when the drowned, desecrated body of the titular Martha is discovered. Now, her twin sister Giulia–the young daughter of a German soldier in a time when the conflict between German and Allied forces is growing more intense by the day–must hunt for the truth of Martha’s murder.

In the latest trailer, viewers are shown several seconds of footage of what seems to be an antique radio or similar device playing nothing but static to set the mood. Afterward, the screen suddenly cuts to the faces of two young girls, identical except that the girl on the right looks very distressed–and her lips have been stitched shut. This isn’t the first timeMartha Is Deadhas used disturbing imageryin its marketing, but it may be one of the most chilling images the game has featured so far. The video soon ends with an announcement that Martha is Dead will launch on July 11, 2025.

There are a few other moments worth taking note of in the trailer. The girl on the right prods her crying twin’s stitched-up mouth, the apparent radio shows a blurry image of a coffin on a small screen, and the two girls begin to chant “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe,” though the reason is not immediately obvious. After running through the full rhyme, both girls turn to the screen on “moe” and look directly at the viewer. On the radio screen, the coffin is abruptly filled, presumably with Martha’s dead body. The result is distinctly uncanny and fits well with the rest ofMartha Is Dead’s promotional materials.

As of writing, it appears that fans are excited by the trailer and looking forward to seeing more of whatMartha Is Deadhas in storefor players.
