Summary

One adventurousThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayer has recently discovered a reliable method for creating an insane amount of ice slabs that’s equal parts speedy and hilarious. The newly detailed technique isn’t the first example of the game’s fandom finding efficient ways to freeze water, as previously underlined by a differentTears of the Kingdomtrick allowing players to useBreath of the Wild’sice powers.

While the latestZeldagame lacks the Cryonis rune featured in its predecessor, its combination of Zonai devices and item-fusing mechanics actually provides Link with many more ways of creating frozen structures. Harnessing the power of ice with makeshift contraptions has so far allowed players to create some deadly weaponry andquickly cross large bodies of water inTears of the Kingdom, among other things.

And while many of those previously discovered tricks can quickly create large amounts of ice slabs, none do so as effectively as the one that was recently devised by Reddit user Sensitive-Break-4657. Namely, this adventurous fan realized that they could perform a jump slash with an ice weapon alongside one of the giant waterfalls in Zora’s Domain to create dozens of ice blocks in a matter of seconds. Their subsequently shared gameplay clip demonstrating the technique in action also confirms that theTears of the Kingdomengine has no trouble rendering a comically large amount of ice slabs, which some fans labeled as highly impressive, not least because of the Switch’s modest hardware.

This method is also extremely resource efficient compared to most other knowntricks for creating huge amounts of ice inTears of the Kingdom, as it only requires the player to perform a single attack which won’t significantly deteriorate any given weapon’s durability. The author of the technique recommended fusing one’s armament of choice with a Frost Gleeok horn for a maximally durable ice-making tool. However, any weapon infused with the power of ice should do the trick.

Obtaining a Frost Gleeok horn could prove to be challenging before endgame, as these menacing dragons are some of the most dangerous enemies across all of Hyrule. Anyone adamant to try their luck against one of these creatures cancurrently find Frost Gleeoks in threeTears of the Kingdomlocations. Like most other enemies in the game, the dragons respawn with every Blood Moon, which makes farming them fairly straightforward once the player becomes capable of actually downing them.
