OneOverwatch 2player found a hilarious and handy strategy for dealing with pesky opponents, sharing a clip of themselves eliminating nearly an entire team as Doomfist with a single powerful Rocket Punch. While fans of Blizzard’s wildly popular hero shooter have likely seen some impressiveDoomfist kill clipsbefore, few manage to combine strategic gameplay and perfect comic timing quite as well as this one.
A follow-up to Blizzard’s industry-influencing 2016 hero shooterOverwatch, the free-to-playOverwatch 2was met with a decidedly mixed reception when it was released for PC and consoles in October 2022. While the move to a free-to-play model and the return of the entire character roster from the first game was praised by many players for helping reignite interest in the stylish shooter, gameplay changes such as the move to a 5v5 format proved to be far more controversial. Combined with frustrations overOverwatch 2’s Battle Pass systemand the laborious grinding required to unlock many characters and cosmetics, these contentious changes have left many franchise fans feeling somewhat disappointed with the long-anticipated sequel.

In a new post shared to the r/Overwatch subreddit, Redditor JoeInTheBean showed off a clip of their simultaneously strategic and side-splitting strategy for dealing with opponents in precarious positions. The short clip, which earned JoeInTheBean Play of the Game, shows them using Doomfist to knock nearly an entire enemy team off the edge ofOverwatch 2’s Oasis map. The replay begins with JoeInTheBean in one of Oasis’ interior spaces outnumbered and outgunned by the enemy team, with no escape in sight. Thinking quickly, they turn defiantly toward their opponents and unleash Doomfist’s Rocket Punch, sending four enemies tumbling off the map to their doom.
This amusing clip shows that, despiteBlizzard nerfing Doomfisttowards the start of Season 2 ofOverwatch 2, the cybernetically-enhanced fighter is still a force to be reckoned with. Redditors responding to the hilarious video were impressed by the comically creative kills, though some commenters thought that the clip highlighted problems with the size of the Rocket Punch’s hitbox. Several Redditors complimented JoeInTheBean for the quick thinking that led to the 5-kill streak, while others simply posted “And dey say” in reference to a line of Doomfist’s now heavily-memed in-game dialogue.
While superb strategy and precisely planned map movements are one way to earn a win inOverwatch 2, this hilarious clip shows that a well-timed special ability near a conveniently-placed ledge can be equally effective. Luckily for JoeInTheBean, none of their opponents usedAna’s Sleep Dart abilityon them on the way down like what happened to an unfortunate Reinhardt player in another recentOverwatch 2clip.
Overwatch 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
