Netflix’sThe Witcherreleased just over two weeks ago, and while critical consensus has been decidedly mixed, fan response to the adaptation has been positive overall. Indeed, many viewers seem thrilled by the live action adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s beloved fantasy series, and that includes Doug Cockle, the voice actor behind Geralt of Rivia in CD Projekt Red’s acclaimedThe Witchervideo games, who recently voiced his opinions on Netflix’s series.
Taking to Twitter over the weekend, Cockle indicated that he had finally completed Netflix’sThe Witcher, and he offered a simple yet effective endorsement of the show. “I love it,” Cockle wrote before going on to praise the “talented cast” that broughtThe Witcher’s main characters to life. Considering the recognition that Cockle has received for his portrayal of Geralt, which includes a Golden Joystick Award for his performance inThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, this is a compliment that the Netflix series' cast can certainly be proud of.

Additionally, Cockle stated that the world in Netflix’sThe Witcheris “lovingly realized,” which is a sentiment that many fans are likely to share. Indeed,The Witcher’s monsters, its diegetic music, and more have captured the imaginations of many of its viewers, and these fans, one of which is Cockle, are now clamoring for more. “Bring on Season 2!“The Witchervoice actor writes to close out his complimentary tweet.
All of that said, Cockle did describe thatThe Witcher’s Season 1 timelineas “challenging,” and he is certainly not the first to have this opinion. However, he went on to say that “it all comes together in the end,” which seems to indicate that he did not find the series' fragmented narrative structure overly problematic.
With respect to when Cockle and other fans of the series can expect more,The Witcher Season 2is set to air on Netflix next year. This was confirmed a month before the first season ofThe Witcherhad even aired, and viewers can thus rest easy knowing that there is more of Geralt and company headed their way. That said, the 2021 release date means that fans will need to exercise a bit of patience, though perhaps the myriad ofThe Witcherstories and games can keep them occupied while they wait.
