Genshin Impact’s ongoing update 3.0 has finally added the long-awaited Sumeru region to the game. Even though the new major update introduced a number of novelties such as three new characters and a brand-new element, players still seem to be amazed by the little details that went into designing the new region.
Unlike the three previous regions, Sumeru seems to be much more interactive which significantly improves players' exploration experience. A new post on the popularGenshin Impactsubreddit shows an adorable detail spotted in the new Sumeru region. Reddit user limesonic has shared a picture showing an NPC playing the mandolin to a bird on a boat.

The NPC belongs to the Eremites group which are people whohail from Sumeru’s desert parts. Most of them are mercenaries who are split into a number of factions with multiple beliefs and codes of conduct. Players seem to love this kind of interaction in the world of Teyvat as the post reached over 400 upvotes. The majority of theGenshin Impactcommunity claims that HoYoverse managed to exceed their expectations with the addition of the new Sumeru region. One of the biggest improvements to the game is unique details like the one shown in the post which gives the impression that the enemies are not just waiting around for their fight with the players.
Sumeru’s residents can be seen doing various random everyday activities, from playing cards with each other, to petting different animals. Fans claim that they hope the story goes deeper into the Eremites' lore in the nextGenshin Impactupdate 3.1which is expected to arrive on September 28. According to recent leaks, the new update will finally introduce Teyvat’s first desert to the game which is Eremites' place of origin.
New major regions usually arrive part by part to the game and the official live stream event for update 3.0 has confirmed that Sumeru can be divided into rainforests and deserts. So far players have had the option to explore only the rainforest part of the region which quickly became the fan-favorite.Sumeru’s deserts are rumored to be much larger, and they will include iconic locations such as mysterious temples and pyramids that were teased in recent promo videos.
According to credible leakers, once all parts of Sumeru are unlocked, it will take up a larger part of the map than Mondstadt and Liyeu combined. The game has already confirmed threenew characters for the nextGenshin Impactupdate, all of whom seem to be inspired by Ancient Egyptian civilization.
Genshin Impactis now available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5.
