Genshin Impactplayer NoobFromPH recently completed the “The Day the Sword Departs” daily commission quest, which depicts NPC Sun Yu preparing to leave Liyue for Fontaine. Sun Yu was conflicted about staying in Liyue to revive Xingqiu’s Guhua clan to its former glory, and a Fontaine merchant recommends that the Liyue native should leave and venture the rest of the world instead. The merchant believes a journey to Fontaine may be a much-needed change of pace for Sun Yu after having spent so much of his life in Liyue. After helping Sun Yu prepare for his journey with the merchant, the Traveler promises to visit Sun Yu in Fontaine soon.

The Day the Sword Departs quest was originally introduced inGenshin Impactversion 3.3, but the quest may be elusive for some players due to the random nature of daily commissions. After completing the quest, the player earned the “To Walk the Horizon…?” achievement, and Sun Yu is no longer present in Liyue going forward. Sun Yu’s companion, Little Que’er, gains new dialogue explaining her feelings for the character and the Guhua clan. Despite her feelings, she decided to stay in Liyue and not pursue Sun Yu in Fontaine.

Sun Yu’s quest is a subtle teaser for the Fontaine region, and a new daily commission will likely allowGenshin Impactplayers to help him become accustomed to his new surroundings. Many NPCs from Mondstadt, Inazuma, Liyue, and Sumeru are already interested in visiting Fontaine, so the Traveler may end up meeting more familiar faces once version 4.0 is available. Additionally, players may also look forward toseveral playable Fontaine charactersin the new update.

Anew Fontaine character may appear in version 3.7asGenshin Impactbuilds up more anticipation for the region within the main story. HoYoverse will likely reveal more information in its upcomingGenshin Impactversion 3.7 special program, so fans won’t have to wait much longer for new content.

Genshin Impactis available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is in development.
