Recent trailers have shown off several of the new characters planned for throughout Fontaine, as well as teasing different locations throughout the domain of Hydro Archon Focalors. Now, a new leak is giving players a better idea of the locales they will be able to traverse.
WhileGenshin Impacthas yet to give players a deep dive into Fontaine’s many explorable locations, trailers and leaks have shown off several points of interest throughout the region. The region’s first teaser trailer showed off multiple different parts of the main capital of Fontaine City, while official concept art and future trailers have teased a fishing village and prison among others. The region has also been confirmed to introduce diving and underwater mechanics toGenshin Impactwith its launch. Now, even more future areas of Fontaine are being teased.

A recent leak shared by prominentGenshin Impactleaker Tao via fellow leaker Xiaobai gives players an idea ofthree upcoming locations within Fontaine. According to the update, Fontaine will not take long to add more areas to explore with a “Prison” reportedly planned for Version 4.1 and a “Research Institute” in Version 4.2. The post also confirms another late-cycle regional update for Fontaine with a “Dungeon” added to the region in Version 4.6. HoYoverse has yet to fully reveal anylocations planned for Fontaine’s Version 4.0 debut.
Fontaine’s rumored three-part map expansion would fall in line with HoYoverse trends from past regions, particularly the game’s most recent locale. Sumeru would see three updates following its debut in Version 3.0 with each adding and expanding upon its desert. Inazuma would similarly see several new islands added to the Japan-themed archipelago, includingthe sprawling underground area of Enkanomiya. Mondstadt and Liyue have also been rumored to be receiving map expansions in the future, though neither has been officially confirmed.
Alongside the plethora of new locations to explore, Fontaine has seen several of the region’s finer details leaked ahead of its impending debut. Leaks have claimed the region will feature over 100 Hydroculi to collect on launch, granting upgrades for the regional Statue of the Seven. Fontaine will also introduce the newest elemental variant for the main protagonist, withthe Hydro Traveler’s abilities already seeing early leaks. Players won’t have to wait much longer to embark on their Fontaine adventures withGenshin Impact’s newest region debuting in three weeks.
